You need to try the local pastries. Here's a good choice.

Great home made pastries and expresso. Their hot chocolate is out if this world especially topped with fresh whipped cream. You have to eat it with a spoon. The granitas are excellent as is their homemade cannoli. A great place for a mid day sweet and the service is excellent.

The Cafe del Arte is an upmarket chocolate shop where you can sample their wares without committing to a purchase however, the goods are so nice I doubt anyone can resist. If you want milk chocolate then you will be disappointed, this is chocolate for grown ups!

Wonderful warm people ( mom, dad, two sons plus others. Their daughters were there for Easter week.) fabulous pastries...but the real attraction is the lovely reception one gets each time.

It's all been said by previous contributors. The pastries, biscuits, coffee, granita, etc., etc. are all outstanding. One could sit outside for hours just nibbling and watching the world go by. Very good indeed.

We visited this cafe almost every day of our trip! Excellent granita, coffee, brioche and cannoli. Friendly staff and superb value for money. It is also worth visiting for a night cap after dinner - still busy at 11pm and full of locals.

Everywhere you go in Modica there are chocolaterias. Any one of them is good and you can find shops where you can buy excellent examples of this unique chocolate to take home.

I thought I died and went to heaven when I had my first bite of a cannolo from Caffe dell'Arte. Many of my Modicano friends have been telling me about this place for the sweets. This place sets the standard.

If you're in a 100km radius from Modica, you cannot miss the mulberry granita from this cafe. The cannoli with ricotta are the best I tasted in SE Sicily. I've been visiting Sicily for years, and this place is one of my personal favorites.

The chocolate from Modica sold there was delicious and unique, not like any other I have tasted. We enjoyed a pastry, some cherry ice cream and drinks there. Service was prompt, waiter friendly, very reasonably priced. Beers and wines limited. Best for coffee and desserts.
