Charming restaurant with great views

My family ate at the Osteria in early August 2015. We have 2 boys, 10 and 7, and we were welcomed with typical Italian warmth. Gabriel was a charming host and encouraged the boys to try new things. In the absence of a printed menu he explained what dishes were on offer with true passion. Food just kept coming and... More

I have had lunch and dinner several times at this osteria and I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent with good wine and water from the mountain. Very friendly and excellent English. Can't wait for my next visit.

Delicious home cooking. Would hae loved to sample more of the very interesting home cooked items we were offered but we were satisfied with sharing two different pasta dishes. The standout was a ricotta and spinach filled ravioli with artichoke sauce and bacon. Again the deserts were lovely. We tried a home cooked panacotta, one with fruits of the forest,... More

It was a Sunday early at noon. Following TripAdviser advice, we drove for two hours to get there, some of it on narrow country roads, to find it in mid nature. We have never been there, we knew nobody there, but we felt right away like we came for a family visit. Gabriel, the owner, spared no effort to explain... More

We've been a number of times and have always been impressed. This is genuine mountain cuisine - marche style! The owners are serious about what they do and will make you feel welcome and looked-after. Recommended.

Scherzi A Parte was recommended to me by a friend of mine who'd been once 8 years ago. It must have stuck out for him as a good restaurant so I made a note to go. I've been there a couple of times now and I think it has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Italy. The first time... More

As a vegan dining with two hard core carnivores I thought I may have a hard time. BUT the flexibility of this kitchen more than satisfied the needs of very one in our group. Gabriele is a great host, making you feel relaxed and comfortable. I had a spelt bean soup with tomatoes and bruschetta, which tasted great. The rabbit... More

Having vacationed in and around Sarnano for the past 7 years, we always make the effort to drive up the hill and visit Gabriele at Osteria Scherzi A Parte. The food is consistently excellent and Gabriele always makes us feel very welcome and comfortable by sitting with us and explaining the daily specials. Also the view over Sarnano is great... More

This is our fourth year visiting the Marche region. A genuine reason for coming back is this restaurant. The food is outstanding - good choice, personally explained by Gabriele, the coolest host on the planet, and cooked to absolute perfection by the lovely Tiziana. Prices ridiculously reasonable. Try the tortellini with wild mushroom, spelt soup, rabbit with apricots.....actually just try... More
