We have been going to Osteria dei Fiori for 10 years and over that time it has consistently served the best food in Macerata. A family run restaurant, not overly large so good to book ahead, especially in the evenings. The owners base their menu around typical Marche fare, using fresh, local ingredients in season. Wines are carefully selected from... More

This is a great place to eat before going to the opera at the Sferisterio. It has a nice location down a side street in the old town, a very short walk from the arena. There are lots of local dishes and wines and staff are very helpful.

Almost in the middle of the historic part of Macerata, with outside seating in the 'road'. We were there on 10 August for a dinner before the opera so it was very busy but the staff coped excellently. I was pleased to see local dishes on the menu and we both enjoyed vincisgrassi. Indeed all our food was very good... More

This is the 2nd time we have eaten here, both times before going to a performance at the Sferisterio Opera festival and again this year it was excellent. The staff calmly and efficiently serve a packed restaurant knowing that everyone needs to leave at the same time. This year We were a mixed bag of adults, teens and a young... More

I really cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We had dinner for 8 on a very busy saturday evening prior to the Opera. The food was simply stunning, clean fresh simple flavours, beautifully presented, great service, top quality very reasonably priced local wines. This is a hidden gem.

The service was friendly, quick and efficient. The menu has enough 'typical" Italian dishes for everyone's palate, but the local dishes are excellent and highly recommended. On a summer evening, try for a seat outside- warm, quiet and pleasant

This small, family run restaurant in Macerata serves some of the best local dishes to be tasted in the Marche. Well supported by Italians as well as visitors the food is always excellent and service good. A particular dish to look out for is the Risotto di fine herbes - melt in the mouth with a dictate yet aromatic flavour.... More

We were there before the open air opera and the staff were wonderful, if busy. Really busy. They forgot a salad, but hardly surprising when everyone needed to be fed before 9 o'clock. Having said that the food was excellent and the staff were lovely.

Maybe we were unlucky that we were there when the restaurant was busy, but we were underwhelmed by the service and food, which was also the saltiest I have ever eaten. On the plus side, the wine was inexpensive and the choices of wine were good.

If you’re in the town of Macerata, take the time to find this gem. It’s off the ‘main drag’, if there is, in fact, a main drag in this charming understated town. You’ll be rewarded with authentic local cuisine with a modern twist at very reasonable prices and extremely friendly service. The standouts were the plate of local cheeses served... More
