A pleasurable lunch

Were were in Macerata on a day trip. A merchant recommended Osteria Dei Fiori and we had a pleasurable lunch with good food and good service. The restaurant is on a small side street and feels more like a local restaurant than one that is tourist oriented.

I love places like this in Italy -- modest little place down a quiet street serving local uncomplicated food but prepared *absolutely perfectly*. The gnocchi was the lightest most pillowy I've ever eaten, served in a bright tomato sauce and went perfectly with a bottle of Verdicchio, a specialty of the region. The house specialty lasagne was the most sensitive... More

A lovely lunch, a modern twist on the usual Marche food, excellent for veggies, friendly and attentive staff, outside shaded seating, not to be missed when visiting Macerata.

Over three days we were invited to eat lunch and dinner at this Osteria. We worked our way through the menu, never repeating a dish. We were delighted with the range and tastiness of the food. There were fine example of local dishes and wines to savour. We looked forward to our visits especially to trying new dishes on the... More

We stumbled upon this small Osteria at lunch time and felt we had won the lottery. With a lovely atmosphere great service and delicious food it was far more than we had hoped for.

Osteria dei Fiori is the perfect balance of fine dining and hearty Italian food. We have eaten there maybe a dozen times, normally a pre-opera supper (booking essential) which the staff handle serenely and there is always time for a relaxed 3 course meal and leisurely caffé, without having to constantly check your watch duing the 2 hour window available... We have been going to Osteria dei Fiori for 10 years and over that time it has consistently served the best food in Macerata. A family run restaurant, not overly large so good to book ahead, especially in the evenings. The owners base their menu around typical Marche fare, using fresh, local ingredients in season. Wines are carefully selected from... More

This is a great place to eat before going to the opera at the Sferisterio. It has a nice location down a side street in the old town, a very short walk from the arena. There are lots of local dishes and wines and staff are very helpful.

Almost in the middle of the historic part of Macerata, with outside seating in the 'road'. We were there on 10 August for a dinner before the opera so it was very busy but the staff coped excellently. I was pleased to see local dishes on the menu and we both enjoyed vincisgrassi. Indeed all our food was very good... More
