The Petrino Inn or Garden as now known is quite simply the best restaurant you will visit. Welcome is warm and genuine, and the menu is varied, freshly cooked and great value for money. The owner explained the dishes and what ingredients were used and spent a lot of time with each table. If you want a meal to remember... More

Our hotel was based not far from this restaurant and it always looked so pretty with its lights and lemon trees. The food was amazing - the meatballs in particular were really good! The service made the experience excellent - very friendly and she spoke to us about each of the courses and gave us recommendations on what to try.... More

Easily the best in malia old town, it was a real pleasure to return again to Petrino. This simple, traditional taverna serves wonderful, fresh food that is prepared to order, not pre-cooked and heated up for a fast turnaround to serve the tourist masses like san giogio's across the road. We had the stifado which was delicious and the veal/chicken/pork... More

My husband and I have just returned from Malia and felt compelled to write a review about this wonderful restaurant. The food was exquisite. My sister and I visited this restaurant seven years and the standard of food and customer service has not changed. To make us feel welcome we were given freshly baked bread, home-made dips and a bottle... More

My wife and I ate here last night, we were both extremely happy with this taverna, everything was first class. We both thought that although we've been happy with all the meals we've had during this one week stay this was the best, and as it our last evening tonight we will return here for our last meal. Service was... More

We have been visiting Crete and the Petrino Inn for well over 10 years and during that time we have always had a fantastic experience. Despite staying in a different resort, we still make the journey back to Old Malia to visit this beautiful restaurant every year. The food is delicious and always cooked to perfection, while the menu is... More

A lovely restaurant with prefect food in in a warm Cretan atmosphere. The people are so friendly, you feel welcome right away. The food and wine are lovely. The menu shows a variety of traditional Greek dishes. But also the fresh fish on the menu makes it worthwhile to be there an evening. In September the grapes grow in the... More
