Yes it took a little time to find, but it was well worth it, we returned 3 times, because the food was so good, the small number staff work so hard, the with food produced by the two ladys in the kitchen (which is open, so you can see what they are doing) is to a very high standard, it... More

Minutes from where we were staying we decided to popp in on a Thursday after nine. Calmly busy we managed to score a table up on the balcony, must say again the layout (having to climb through the upstairs window onto the mezzanine) and the decor are beautifully quaint and Greek. Fabulous options especially the Mez but after a heavy... More

We discovered this restaurant on our first night and didn't find anywhere else in malia or hersonnisos that compared! I fact we visited on another two occasions (we usually like to eat at a different place every night). The food was delicious, with a great selection on traditional Greek dishes and some more English type meals e.g steak, pork chops... More

It's very good. May have suffered in comparison with our recent visit to Milos, where the food, in my opinion, is slightly better. However, the setting and ambience here are superior. Old town Malia is so much better than the "strip" where all the young drunks congregate. Good quality food and wine, excellent service, nice setting in the old town.... More

Don't want to be too harsh but this was our worst meal of our holiday. Waited over half an hour just to place our drinks order, then it took over an hour to get our meals. Meals were not great and the service was very poor and unfriendly.

One of the best little tavernas in the old town. Always great food at very reasonable prices. Never disappoints :)

Fabulous setting down a quiet little road off the main drag in the Old Village. The Kalesma was the number one restaurant for us and we visited on more than one occasion. Very authentic Greek food, beautifully served and the local white wine was delicious too. Would certainly recommend and for us it was the No 1 Spot:-

We found the food to be excellent and the service was very friendly. We particularly enjoyed that this restaurant was a little less in your face than many others in the area. There was no waiter following you down the street trying to persuade you to come in! I had a beautiful piece of sea bream that was well cooked... More

We first visited this restaurant 20 years ago and have returned many times since..we always go at least twice during our visits to Malia the food is quite simply superb. We always have small plates and order a few starters and mains and share, we have tried many things over the years off the menu and every single one has... More
