As the Platea is now one of only 2 tavernas on the square my family and I have tried our best not to expect high standards - there's just not enough competition. We have now decided that this is our last visit. Portion size was incredibly small. A lamb shank was eaten in 3 mouthfuls by one of our children... More

The Greek dancing was magnificent, wish I could say that for the buffet which was awful.very poor quality dishes charged at €17 per head. He must make at least €15 .chicken legs! fatty, swimming in grease Afelia. Sit in the square for a drink. Buy a crepe much better value. No vegetarian dishes on offer. Stay away until proper quality... More

The last night of our holiday tonight, looking forward to something a bit special to finish off in style (Meze was what we had in mind). Whatamistakeatomakea.... We booked for the Cyprus themed night, which was ok to give credit where credit is due, but that was as good as it got. The food was buffet style, this wasn't explained... More

We booked here for the greek dancing and asked for a table inside. When we arrived they didnt have any tables and denied us even booking even though it was the same man who took our reservation. They eventually found us a table outside so far from the dancing that you couldnt see at all. The meze was awful very... More

Made the reservation two days before for the sole reason of the entertainment on Cyprus night but wasnt told about it being buffet. Only when we sat down (with four kids under ten) we were told it was buffet. I don't like buffets- at the best of times but was there for the entertainment. They agreed to charge for only... More

The food is OK here, if not a bit overpriced. The real lure is on Friday nights when there is a buffet and also Cypriot dancing. It is nice to see once and if you have younger kids they will likely enjoy it. Reservations will ensure you getting a table with a view to the stage.

Went on a Friday night for typical Cypriot entertainment. Nice restaurant with excellent staff but food just average tourist fare. I went for the buffet option of which there was plenty of and very hot. Partner had Stifado but unfortunately beef fatty which it wasnt in other restaurants.

After living in Cyprus for 12 years we visited family who were holidaying in Pissouri and ate here. for a change we ordered Cod and Chips ( you can only eat so much souvlaki ) and were given frozen Hoki, my portion still had some of the blue plastic bag attached from the freezer, another of us had a chicken... Can recommend Cyprus Night - the food could have been better but the entertainment is good for getting into the Cyprus way of things. We ate there on another night and had the lamb kleftico - definately worth having!

Having stayed in Pissouri before we had missed out on the treat that awaited us in the old town. Having sorted out the parking we strolled down to the square to find a warm welcome at the Platea Tavern. Jo and the rest of the staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed a well cooked meal of Kleftiko that... More
