Ate there twice...once utdoors once indoors. On the first outdoor night we had the Weiner schnitzel and Tafelspitz and both were excellent. With wine and bottled water the bill was 50 euro. Bread etc. was offered. The service was friendly and excellent. The second night we ate indoors. The staff remembered us and directed us immediately to a cosy and... More

This was Tuesday. many restaurants TI recommended were closed. This was the one of the recommendation in the heart of the village opened for lunch. When we first arrived, there were big groups filled the entire restaurant. The hostess politely told us come back for another 15 mins. Yes, when we went back, we almost had the restaurant to ourself.... More

Having picked this restaurant for its good reviews on Tripadvisor, we were distinctly disappointed. The service was, to put it nicely, too efficient if not unfriendly and uncaring. Theif efficiency culminated in a lot of noice in the restaurant; additionally our table was used as a "parking station" for menus and other stuff, resulting in zero privacy. The selection was... This quaint family hotel, updated rooms, all very different,,some smaller, some with shared kitchen areas, sits in the heart of the wachau valley, austrian wine country. A most gorgeous part of Austria. We stayed here 2 nights with our vbt tour group. The breakfast is just around the corner to the hotel, a very small village, romantic, cozy. Clean as... More

Four of us dropped in, mid afternoon, after a meander round Weissenkirchen. Well-cooked Austrian food and good service at a reasonable price. Kirchenwirt has been rated on of the best restaurants in this region of Austria by the Falstaff 2013 Restaurant Guide. They are not mistaken!

Not far from our hotel we took an reccomendation from Trip Advisor and it was not an culinary surplus, but it was lovely five course menu with very good local wine. Outside sitting was also nice in August.

We recently discovered this restaurant by accident, it being one of the only places open on a Sunday evening. We were greeted with kindness, seated at a quiet table in our own alcove, and received excellent service. The food was fresh and very high quality. There was a nice outdoor seating area which wasn't utilized on that evening because of... More

Apricots dishes and desserts are famous for the region. So are the wines of the region and the fresh fish from the river Danube. Try any of these and you will love them!

With family, we spent a week intended-to-be biking trip to Wachau, Lower Austria. Having 2 small kids, we still did some biking but found eating and wine tasting to be same adventurous! We knew about wine, but food quality was big surprise to me. And Kirchenwirt restaurant at Weissenkirchen was one of the best. Kirchenwirt offers seasonal local food prepared... More
