We are a simple, friendly, family run budget-style guesthouse with only eight twin or double bed rooms. One room of three single beds. No dormitories. We have our own restaurant offering both Thai and Western food. Our public bar is popular with travelers and locals alike, well stocked with extremely cold beer and specialty cocktails. We help with the full range of travel advice and ticketing. The English owner has lived locally and on the islands for nearly fifteen years so is very well connected with many dive shops and resorts on all islands, particularly Koh Tao where he still spends a lot of time to keep information up to date.

Best Massamam Ever

Just try it... It's delicious. After 3weeks in a gastronomy tour in thailand, I can say "yes, there is a restaurant I will come back".

With four hours to kill before our night boat to Ko Tao (and a little underwhelmed at our chosen and supposedly "famous" place), we waked a few blocks to Farang Bar, a place that kept coming up was we searched for good spots to chill, have a few beers, and get some tasty grub. Why, oh WHY didn't we do... More

Euro-Thai restobar. Food is average unless you have been away too long, then everything tastes good. Service is meant to ensure that you stay a while. Local ex-pat hangout. Standard menu and reasonable prices. In fairness I only went there once and I was on a schedule. Will try it again when it's raining and there's nothing to do.

We had few hours in chumphon before taking night train to Penang and we were extremely hungry backpackers. We crossed all the town back and forth and finally we came across this place when we were losing our hope for a proper meal in chumphon. Food was awesome at very low prices. Staff very friendly. Quiet place in this hectic... More

We visited the Farang Bar in Chumpon early in 2014, for a sunset beer or two. The atmosphere seemed quite pleasant and our drinks were served with a smile. Browsing the menu we noticed a "specialty" was Thai Massaman curry. My wife and I have been frequent visitors to Thailand over the last 30 years and have enjoyed many a... More

I would not recommend eating here! The food was horrendous, how you can get French fries wrong I don't know and the burger was like chewing some gum! The toasties are just warm bread with cold cheese in!

The bar staff were friendly and the bar was a typical Thai farang (Foreigner) bar. The drinks were ok as was the bar food. Unfortunately the owner (as I was told he was) was in a terrible mood and was extremely rude to me and my Thai girlfriend.

My girlfriend and I stayed here before and after we came back from koh tao. The owner is a friendly and helpful guy with a good sense of humour. The burger we ate there was pretty tasty. There is also a permenant resident called Hans who can give you many good tips. Across the guesthouse is an amzing thai bbq... More

Went looking for the number 1 restaurant in Chumphon, it was closed so we saw this one and decided to try it. A very average place, first girl who served us had a bit of a personality but she went home. The next one had no idea. We ordered a glass of red and another beer, she got the red... More
