In Chumphon for 10 days. Farang bar became my local. Good food, top service and lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble. If I asked for something and they didn't have it there, one of the staff would hop on a bike and try to find it. Also dealt with my travel arrangements efficiently. I can't speak highly enough of... We were apprehensive, as we have been in Thailand due to my girlfriends peanut allergy, but the staff were very careful and made sure that her food was well looked after. The food was brilliant - I would recommend the green curry! The bar is very relaxed and feels very safe and clean. A great place to eat when you're... More

Saw this place in Lonely Planet and gave it a go while we waited for our our train back to Bangkok. 4 hours to kill and it's going well so far, 2 down and we've had a superb yellow curry and jungle curry, and cold beers. Good value too, 90 baht for a curry and 95 baht for a large... More

Forget about anyone's review that they made 12 months after eating here . The massaman curry is awesome . Old Cook is back apparently and is top notch . I've eaten here 20 times over the years and it's always great. It's a low key, ambient , leafy , chilled out restaurant bar under massive canopy tree . Cheap coldies... More

With four hours to kill before our night boat to Ko Tao (and a little underwhelmed at our chosen and supposedly "famous" place), we waked a few blocks to Farang Bar, a place that kept coming up was we searched for good spots to chill, have a few beers, and get some tasty grub. Why, oh WHY didn't we do... More

Euro-Thai restobar. Food is average unless you have been away too long, then everything tastes good. Service is meant to ensure that you stay a while. Local ex-pat hangout. Standard menu and reasonable prices. In fairness I only went there once and I was on a schedule. Will try it again when it's raining and there's nothing to do.

We had few hours in chumphon before taking night train to Penang and we were extremely hungry backpackers. We crossed all the town back and forth and finally we came across this place when we were losing our hope for a proper meal in chumphon. Food was awesome at very low prices. Staff very friendly. Quiet place in this hectic... More
