European style cooking on the strip in Dumaguete

Decent clean place along the Rizal strip in Dumaguete. Menu is varied but leans heavily to European style food. There is a decent selection of Thai and Filipino as well and I saw a couple of Mexican dishes as well. Service is decent, but not great. We collectively tried the Tuna Sashimi... read more

I like eating in this resto. Aside from it being infront of the boulevard, the place has a homey feel. Maybe because it's small and cozy. The waitresses are friendly and accommodating. They have almost all of my favorite dish, italian, mexican, filipino, etc. plus they have big servings. Kids also love their burgers, pizza and milk shakes.

I recommend sitting outside when eating since the dinning room seat cushions are in taters and filthy, don't look like that have been changed or washed in 10 years, I will not even sit on them so I have to eat my meal outside in the hot weather instead of in the Air Con dining room.

Why Not restaurant is a cozy place to eat along the boulevard in Dumaguete City. Its buffet dinner is something to look forward to every time I am in Dumaguete. Its roasted spare ribs... Ooooohhh!... Mouth-watering, yummy!

While the restaurants in Dumaguete that serve Filipino food are aplenty and acheap, sometimes, one can have too much of it. The place looks dark and musty, with very old-fashioned and badly done decor and wait staff incongruously dressed like Swiss maidens, these touches are unforgivable, because the place serves good Swiss-German fare, plus some Thai and Japanese additions. Their... More

Our group of friends lunch out on special occasions; a birthday, a welcome or despedidia lunch or just to get together! We decided to try out the dishes at Why Not Le Chalet Restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Jambalaya, Greek Salad and Seafood Pad Thai.... We've gone back for repeat lunches... and its one of our favorite restaurants... More

Can't quite put the restaurant to a category side the food ranges from steaks to schnitzel to filipino food. Though this was the most expensive place we ate during our stay in Dumaguete, the price is cheap due to its serving size. The Seafood Michelle soup which is cream of broccoli with 3 whole scallops and 5 pieces of shrimp... More

As title suggested, this place was terrible in terms of food quality. The meat, pork, chicken, beef all tasted the same;they were simply too over cooked and were solid hard. When we asked if they always cook their meat like that, the answer from the waitress was, "you did not specify how you like your meat cooked." Speechless.
