Restraint worth trying out

Visiting relatives wanted to see something different, so we went to this restaurant in rishikesh. Huge restaurant with lots of table and a guy dressed as a pundit with his face all pink and a pony tail on a bald head, going straight up. Food is okayish and a lot of combos available. On a hot afternoon roaming on the streets of Haridwar, a glass full of Lassi was life at the Chotiwala in August 2012 :))

Happiness on trip depends on the food we get... At Chotiwala Haridwar, the meal was served warm (not served hot), service and the taste was average... It somehow didn't live up to the hype which is created all around. Perhaps we expected more, or they really didnt have that 'wow' factor... It is unique just in name, everything else is... More

I have been to Haridwar a lot of times as a child & remember going to Chotiwala numerous times. So, this time, I wanted to take my family there too.. I remember the food being amazingly tasty.. but was a tad disappointed this time. The food is still good but its not outstanding like it used to be. Now there... More

After a long walking tour of Rishikesh, reached Chotiwala for lunch. The food was good, very homely and tasty. The mascot - a man wearing a big choti and sitting near the main door - is a good attraction!

Oh my word, if I start talking about the awesome vegetarian cuisine we enjoyed all over India, I will get hungry all over again :) This place was just THE BEST! the most magnificent veggie biryani, pulao, panneer dishes, paratha, aloo-gobi - just could not get enough of the gorgeous food!!!

Had a try at the Chotiwala restaurant in Rishikesh. The food was very good and provided options such as South Indian Dosa. THe price is above average which I guess is a norm in all hotels in the area.

We had dinner at Chotiwala during our visit to Haridwar in Nov 2014. We had dal makhni, mutter panner and roti with lassi. Food was good. Ambience and service was good too.
