Our greeting was not overly friendly, a few spare tables, but the hostess made it look like she could just squeeze us in. A long wait for first service, but then our waiter was fun, chatty and efficient. Did get the order wrong.....but with a smile. Good food, but not with raving about.

I was worried after going to the site of the old Amigos, that they had closed. But I'm glad I asked the locals if it still existed. It's moved to bigger and brighter premises and the interior of the place has a really authentic Mexican cantina feel. But it's all about the food. The have always served tasty meals and... More

This was one of the best nights out in NZ. Two families with 4 excitable kids. Service was great, fast and friendly. Food was great, actually it was excellent and served in record time and all together - this was the best Mexican food and restaurant we have ever been to. Kids entertained with colour -in pictures, kids meal prices... More

Love this place, good food, cheap prices, large portions and friendly service. And you can wear a sombrero if you want!

I had a great time at Amigos, I had the passionfruit margarita which was super sweet, but so yum! I had the pork nachos which were so delicious! They pulled two outdoor heaters to our table so we could stay outside and enjoy the sunset and stay warm! Great service and delicious food.

It's simple, just great Mexican food with awesome friendly survice and an outstanding selection of tequila and you totally haven't been to Wanaka if you haven't been to AmiGos!

I love Mexican - we make our own pulled pork & tortillas at home. And Amigos is just as good ;-) meats are all slow cooked and divine. All there food is tasty and fresh. Great kids menu too. The churros looked amazing. I was worried that it wouldn't be as good as I recalled (5 yrs ago) after reading... More

Thanks Mands. Nice to have you visit again after so long! We'd gladly cut down the ice on request, or omit it altogether if you'd like, just say that you prefer it that way. Hopefully it won't be 5 years til we see you next time! More

I'm no big Mexican foodie, do was indifferent coming here. The atmosphere is very lively and the fire and sombreros are a good touch. The waitress was terrific. The food was very good if a bit slow coming out. May come here again.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review... sorry if we kept you waiting a bit long, but you did visit at peak time of the year, and we get a bit snowed under sometimes when everyone arrives at once! Hope to see you again amigo. More

Great food, awesome service and excellent value for money. Great place to go for some spicy hot food and margaritas after a day skiing.

Been in far better Mexicans! I ordered burritos and one came on a small plate, costed $25 and no side like most Mexicans it comes with rice or something for that price... Also it should be burrito not burritos as there's only one! Our meals were also very bland. Abit unhappy we went to pay at that just topped it... More

Excuse me? $25?? No sides??? Burritos at Amigos are $12.90. They come with rice, salad, salsa, sour cream, jalapenos and various sprinkled garnishes. Clearly stated on the menu, look at the website. They're filled with meat, beans and cheese, and wrapped in an 8" tortilla. I've no idea what or where you're talking about, and don't appreciate you're trashing my... More
