We were greeted by a very angry and rude women named Nikki. From the moment we walked in we felt so uncomfortable we could not enjoy our meal. Her service was absolutely shocking.

The food was average, for some that is use to have a nice Mexican food, this one was just fine. The waitress was great!! But all my experience went down with the owner lady, she was rude, inappropriate and absolutely out of place. Next time better to do tacos at my place!! ahaha

You know it's good when they have two settings each night. We chose the early sitting and weren't disappointed, most of our group had 2 entrees each, which gave a good choice of flavours. There was a pile of colourful hats for patrons to put on and have fun. The couches were covered in rugs in a casual atmosphere. The... More

A visit to Amigos was always one of the highlights of our ski holidays in Wanaka. Alas no more. Margaritas were watery and insipid (mainly ice) but most disappointing were the fajitas. At the old Amigos (and most other tex mex) you get the platter, burritos and a comprehensive selection of condiments and usually struggle to eat it. At Amigos... More

Came for an early dinner having pre-booked a table. Nice dining room, cozy with heaters outside for smokers. The staff were friendly, but the service is not very attentive (no free tortillas like other tables, no water for the table, had to get our own menus). The food was hit and miss - deathwish wings were hot as promised but... More

Our greeting was not overly friendly, a few spare tables, but the hostess made it look like she could just squeeze us in. A long wait for first service, but then our waiter was fun, chatty and efficient. Did get the order wrong.....but with a smile. Good food, but not with raving about.

I was worried after going to the site of the old Amigos, that they had closed. But I'm glad I asked the locals if it still existed. It's moved to bigger and brighter premises and the interior of the place has a really authentic Mexican cantina feel. But it's all about the food. The have always served tasty meals and... More

This was one of the best nights out in NZ. Two families with 4 excitable kids. Service was great, fast and friendly. Food was great, actually it was excellent and served in record time and all together - this was the best Mexican food and restaurant we have ever been to. Kids entertained with colour -in pictures, kids meal prices... More

Love this place, good food, cheap prices, large portions and friendly service. And you can wear a sombrero if you want!

I had a great time at Amigos, I had the passionfruit margarita which was super sweet, but so yum! I had the pork nachos which were so delicious! They pulled two outdoor heaters to our table so we could stay outside and enjoy the sunset and stay warm! Great service and delicious food.
