An enjoyable blast from the past.....

This is an old classic with lots of atmosphere. Our dinner was excellent, the atmosphere festive and touristy in the good sense of the word. It was most enjoyable.....

Stopped here after skiing at Cardrona for a mulled wine. Very delicious. Ended up staying for dinner as well. The place has two fire places as well as an outdoor Woodfire pit so nice and warm.

After conquering Cardona (ie skiing/snowboarding), you must conquer your thirst. Hence, the boutique Kiwi beers, the outdoor fires, the food, and mingling with people from all over the world, just makes Cardrona Hotel a brilliant place to be.

We were there in mid May and though we arrived for dinner at 7pm, we only just managed to squeeze an order in before the kitchen closed. May is their quieter season so not a lot of people to cater to, hence why closing so early. Food was a little disappointing compared to previous occasions.

Was wary as I'd built my hopes up but I wasn't disappointed. Lovely aged features, a roaring fire and very good food. The Merino Lamp Chops were tasty and plentiful.

Great food, wonderful friendly staff, relax by the fire and enjoy the unique lovely hotel. Accommodation available if wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the good quality food available. Highly recommend you take time to stop here and enjoy this special place. Prince Harry ate here in May 2015.

limited breakfast selection, at lunch we had deep fried camembert but when it arrived it was still frozen solid in the middle, quite expensive, and staff didn't pay much interest in non-locals...we only live over in Queenstown. BUT great atmosphere, have had the wedges there many times which is a very generous portion and tastes great with a beer in... More

Thanks for the feedback and our sincere apologies about your experience with the camembert wedges. Please email us at info@cardronahotel.co.nz and we'd be happy to send you a voucher as a small apology. We also truly value our non-local customers, with out them we most definitely wouldn't be here!
