The Cardrona Hotel serves up a modern take on traditional pub fare. Fresh, fast and filling you'll find all your traditional favourites created from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Our wine list features top quality local drops from some of the region's best wineries, along with a great selection of both tap and bottled beers, ciders and a full range of spirits. Perfect

The pub is smaller than it seems from the roadside and is in need of a little TLC but wow, once you step inside, it in my opinion is one of the nicest most original and genuine kiwi pubs I have visited. Staff are discreet and welcoming and treat you with a true interest. The food is extremely... read more

Sat in their beautiful back garden on a sunny day. The grass is like carpet. Food was quite good and local beer and wine very nice. There is a lot of history within this hotel which I found interesting. I would go again especially on a sunny day!

This is a great stop enroute from Queenstown to Wanaka over the Crown Range. This is an old cute pub with loads of atmospherewith beams & stripped floorboards & worth a stop if only for a coffee & photos. If you want lunch or dinner the menu is varied & won't break the budget. Good portions in a casual place.... More

Stopped for dinner with husband and 8 year old. Loved the hotel on arrival and menu looked good. Standard unimaginative kids menu. Ordered Sausage and mash, which was happily changed to chips but disappointingly it arrived as one not very nice sausage and a few chips in a small bowl with no veg or green. Needless to say it was... More

The Cardrona Hotel is an iconic building, so we decided to stop here for a coffee on the way to Cromwell. In the flesh, the façade actually looks like a movie set pub, next to a quaint post office and a well-restored jalopy. The Hotel is surprisingly large and cosy inside, with multiple rooms for drinking, eating and functions. They... More

Many things sold out menu. Disappointing small lamb salad and very burnt battered cod and chips. Service not great and always issues when paying tab. Lovely atmosphere but for some reason standards have really dropped in kitchen

We enjoyed a drink here after a horse ride and were lucky enough to score the lounges by the fire- yes it was needed in January! The hotel has a lot of decorations of historic equipment eg. old bellows and gramophone. There were old photos too. We shared the nachos and cob loaf with garlic butter (warm and fresh). All...
