Sangria was good but food was just ok

This is our 2nd time to Fajardo and we are foodies at heart. Since this was called Calizo Sea Food we were thinking that everything would be spectacular. We were a party of 6 my husband ordered the red snapper which was over fried and tough to eat. I order a dish that came with lobster tail... read more

We were visiting friends staying at the El Conquistador and were looking for a place to eat. We just happened to stop here and were blown away with the food, drink and service. Especially the sangria which I can't wait to try and duplicate at home. It is half fruit juice (orange, lemon, cranberry, pineapple), dark rum, merlot, cabernet and... More

What a wonderful place to go to dinner! Our waiter, Jose was fabulous. He encouraged us to get their famous Sangria with the secret ingredient of Amaretto! We ended up getting 2 pitchers for our party of 6 people! The food was exquisite! I had the pumpkin soup and the cantaloupe and zucchini salad. Most of our group ordered seafood... More

It was our last night in Puerto Rico and we wanted somewhere special. Calizo was the perfect spot. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the wonderful sangria. We each had a fish special, mine was mahimahi with garlic potatoes and oh, so good. The service was prompt and just the right mix of professional and friendly. We highly recommend it. Location... A nice restaurant. Good service and their sangria was delicious! Their portions are quite large so order accordingly! A little pricer than some of the other places though.

Fajardo has a number of fine restaurants, and based on our experience, Calizo’s certainly ranks among the best of them. Selected the restaurant on the basis of TripAdivsor reviews and seating availability, and we were not disappointed. The skirt steak alone was enough for two, but after a bite or two I was not about to share, and the salmon... More

Went here after doing the Bio Bay tour (which was great, btw). THe place has seating both inside and outside - we chose outside. wrought iron chairs and tables with umbrellas. Our waiter was Edgar and our bus boy was Michael. They were both great. Michael wanted to please so much, it was wonderful. We ordered the fish crackers, striped... More

We are on a girls trip to Puerto Rico and had a great meal tonight. The presentation and recommendations were great - the skirt steak can be fork cut, really tender and delicious as were the grouper and mahi mahi (not as tender). The sangria was great and the wait staff as well. We didn't save room for dessert so... More

We took a laptop with us for the 1st time and reviews of this place seemed to focus on its food and service. It was an easy choice to make, although somewhat difficult getting there. The road narrows as you drive north of Fajardo, and is never straight. All said, this restaurant is legendary for good reasons. Janet and I... More
