If you like trouts this is the place to come, and if you just want to eat your dinner a tree then it's doubly great. I'm not a huge fish fan and luckily there are vegy and steak options on the menu because it would be a shame not to eat here because I've never been any where like it,... More

This restaurant is relatively easy to find,it's just off the naro moru - nanyuki road and your GPS should be handy in locating it. We made it in time for lunch, at around 3 pm,so we were properly ravenous, (Restaurant is open from 10am-4pm) and were well received by their attentive staff. We enjoyed our grilled trout and tandoori trout... More

If you love trout, this restaurant is not to be missed. Other commendable features are that the dining platforms are built into a tree and the trout ponds gurgle below you. I would stop there again if I were on my way to Nanyuki but wouldn't make a special trip to Nanyuki to sample the menu.

Who hasn't dreamt of living in a treehouse? The next best thing has to be a visit to the Trout Tree. The restaurant is built around and in a very big old fig tree and is a magical setting. It's mainly outdoors - but sheltered - and higgledy piggledy as it follows the contours and levels of the tree. Must... More

I visited the trout tree a few weeks ago and was completely blown away by the restaurant, set up in a tree house surrounded by beautiful forest it was a real hide-away from reality. with a working trout farm within the grounds there was a lot of trout dishes on the menu but as a fish love that wasn't a... Location and the trout. Excellent combination, it helps that the drive there involves views to the Aberdares on one side and Mt Kenya on the other.

We made an impromptu visit to this restaurant on our way to nanyuki. This place is quite unique. Built around a tree. Fish straight from the fish tank. Super fresh, super tasty. The ambience was great, the service was outstanding and very reasonably priced. The colobus are just an added entertainment while you sip your drink while admiring the way... More

I really like this restaurant. Been going there so many times. Service and food has not gone down. The choice on the menu is very good and makes one think which item to choose! Have to be careful about the Colubus monkeys, as they will try to get your food and get a free meal. I did not mind the... More

I've visited Kenya many times over the past 20+ years and keep returning to the Trout Tree every time I go... Yes it may be a little rough and ready, but The novelty of eating in a huge tree house with amazing ambiance is second to none... Highly recommended and great value for money, it goes without saying that you... More

Am rating this "Very good" more for the novelty of the place rather than the food. The restuarant is built in and around a large tree and looks like something that belongs in a children's fairytale. Its worth the stopover simply to witness it. Trout farms surround the restaurant so your catch will definitely be fresh. Where it fails is... More
