We loved this place and in fact went twice in a fairly short time once we had discovered it! We ate really well - the fresh, smoked, curried trout was all good - yes, between us we tasted all of these! The restaurant is built around a huge tree and there are layers of dining space. In addition there are... More

The best place to eat trout fish in Kenya. Reasonable price, good location not far from the main road. The site is also beautiful with lots of colobus monkeys around.

With a group of 10 friends we had lunch in Trout Tree Restaurant. Nice staff and a menu mainly with fish dishes but for the meat eaters there is a choice as well. I started with a smoked trout on toast with hors radish saus. My main was a grilled trout. Really good for a very acceptable price. I will... More

The only sign of the restaurant from the road, is a symbol of a fish skeleton, made from wooden twigs, and sticks, and a sign saying Trout Tree restaurant 200 m. You can easily miss it if you do not know where or what it is. When you drive down the road, and enter the restaurant, you have a view... More

The restaurant is set on a tree which is different. The food is good as they serve fresh trout from their trout farm. It was also good that they had smaller servings for children (a smaller trout without small bones).

Trout tree is a must stop for travellers going to nanyuki Mt Kenya areas. The restaurant is built on a mugumo tree and the sound of the water in the background creates a perfect ambience. The main dish is of course trout, and the grilled trout is better than the tandoori trout. The fish is fresh, and you can watch... More

After traveling 3 hrs from Nairobi, and an addition 4 hr safari it was great to sit down to a nice meal! The service was very adequate. I would love to return and experience the fine dining and everything the tree trout has to offer!

The views are excellent, food is great (fresh trout from their farms) and service is good. One or two dishes available if you're veggie. Had the grilled trout, which was perfectly cooked, tender and flakey - just the way a fish should be cooked. Even if you're not hungry, it's worth a stop while you're on your way to Nanyuki... More

This restaurant is a must try for anyone who has the opportunity to get there. The fish is caught live from the water shortly after you order it. It is expertly prepared and tastes as good as any other fish I've ever had. Large variety of different preparations from grilled to tandoori and many more. You can even choose your... More
