Trout Tree is an Institution

Trout Tree is always amazing... I eat here every I drive up to Ol Pejeta and it never fails to deliver. The setting is beautiful, the food is rustic and superb and the staff are warm and welcoming.

They have a trout farm out back and cook it expertly in like ten different ways, and serve it to you in an amazingly designed tree house. Definitely take a look for the Colobus monkeys that hang out here too.

You will not want to miss the experience of "going out on a limb" and having a meal at this most unusual restaurant. It is -- literally -- built into massive mangrove trees. The food is good, but the experience makes it wonderful. We were told to watch out for the thieving monkeys, but I found them delightful. Also sitting... More

This is my favorite place to rest and eat on this route. I love the atmosphere - the tree restaurant concept works, the bubbly brooke is awesome, fresh fish catch all great for kids and adults alike. The exclusivity of the location makes it a most ideal location! The staff is friendly and efficient.

To start off with the setting is magical, the restaurant reminds me of the treehouse out of Swiss Family Robinson. It’s very secluded and you could easily drive past without knowing it was there. The Food didn’t disappoint either. I shared the platter and first impressions was that it was a bit small, however we struggled to finish it. You... More

I love stoping at Trout Tree! It is such an awesome restaurant that is built around a gorgeous tree and overlooks the trout ponds. Beware of the Colobus monkeys though, they love to snatch at anything on your plate when you are not paying attention! :)

If you have driven from Nairobi, and are en route to Nanyuki, this is a must-do stop off. The restaurant is set on stilts and attached to trees, and overlooks the trout farm. The coffee and chocolate cake is what draws me there, but the meals I have seen served up (particularly the trout of course) look wonderful, and watching... More

Worth going there once ! Trout fish there was awesome. Portions of the food were also good. Watch out for the big fish sign on the main road.

Went here for my 40th birthday with my family and friends. It's a great little place, food good with a trout theme but the real entertainment is the beautiful monkeys, who try and steal your food.My daughter was to busy to eat and we laughed lots.Great time had.

I visited the Trout Tree on my final day in Kenya and it really gave the wow-factor. So much so that I wrote about it in my blog.. muthasuppa.wordpress.com I highly recommend this innovative and beautiful restaurant.
