The Trout Tree restaurant serves some of the freshest food I have ever had. It is set in a tree house overlooking a trout farm. The sound of the water in the trout ponds provides a wonderful backdrop to the delicious food that highlights the region's incredible produce from the farmers. If you like fish, definitely try any of their... More

This restaurant, set in the trees, is an entertaining place to eat and fun for children. You get to choose your own trout to be cooked from the pools below and can eat it in the company of tree hyraxes and Colobus monkeys (one of whom brazenly stole potatoes from our plate). The menu is basically trout cooked in a... More

We happened here as an accident. Another safari van had broken down and we picked up the other people to drop them off at trout tree for them to meet up with the rest of their group. So our driver decided we should eat here, too, since we were already there. It was fantastic! The atmosphere is great, the building... More

The unique setting of the restaurant, built on several levels in the trees, gives this restaurant a wonderful ambience. The food did not disappoint either - fresh grilled trout with a good selection of veggies and crisp potato wedges topped off a wonderful experience!

You’re on the road, heading home from safari and you’re ready for a meal… but where to stop? If you’re close to Nanyuki, we recommend Trout Tree. It’s a fun location, with the tables set in different parts of the “tree house,” and your kids will love looking at the fish in the little pools while you wait for your... More

Nestled in a tree-top in a rocky river valley this restaurant is unique in surroundings, design and how it procures its fish. Catch your own trout and see the trout farm working. All ultra-fresh. Kids love it. Lovely!

I was part of a small tour group returning to Nairobi from the Shaba Natural Reserve, we decided to stop at the Trout-Tree excited about their famous fish and the pleasant location. Wow, the place was PACKED with people and finding a table was challenging. That part is okay, we didn't mind waiting a bit because it's a popular restaurant... More
