Great old decor

Yosemite caters to the outdoor person, the campers who cook their own food, There only 2 real restaurants in Yosemite, the 5 stars Ahwahnee and this one. not as fancy has the Ahwahnee nor as expensive, the food is quite good, the decor is old but elegant, well worth the stop

We had 1 good dish, 1 mediocre dish and 2 pretty poor dishes in our 2 nights eating here whilst staying at the hotel. It could have been a lot worse I guess, but it wasn't really anything to look forward to. At breakfast the dining room was so cold that a coat was required to eat in (in September... More

Who would have expected such a varied menu in a rustic setting. The food has been consistently good for many years, and you can't beat the setting. The dining room is really the only game in town, so luckily they take their cooking seriously. Presentation is also good, but the food itself was the centerpiece. Linger in the old dining... More

The Wowona Hotel makes up in cleanliness, ambiance and romantic appeal for the shortcomings in the culinary department. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. The breakfast was equivalent with that of a cheap diner and the dinner was mediocre at best. I think a lot more could be done with the same ingredients. Presentation is also not... More

Made a reservation for two nights in November, Thanksgiving week. Only stayed one night because there was not much to do in the area. There are lots of hiking trails for sure, but I guess we were looking for more. Most everything is "closed for the season" this time of year. Hotel staff were courteous and efficient. Hotel is old... Our family of five visited this wonderful historic hotel restaurant this month. We were staying in a great cabin vacation home and wanted to have a night out. We went to the Wawona and loved the experience. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and professional. The dining room is very nice and my three teenagers, my wife and I... More

We ate dinner and breakfast there. Continental breakfast included pumpkin bread, a banana nut muffin, fresh fruit cup and light yogurt. You also got coffee and orange juice. Dinner was quite good. Just a note put your name in early because quite a wait for dinner (45" told, actually an hour when put name in at 7:00 pm, 25 "... More

Our dinner here was quite nice (pot roast - comfort food) however I did not like the fact that our tablecloth smelled like a dirty fish pond. The room itself is very nice, not too large, with big windows that can slide open and closed. Our breakfast was simple but good.

Our appetizer of crispy Brussel sprouts arrived with my husband's salad. My cup of soup was a no show. The appetizer was generous and delicious. My roasted portobello mushroom was grilled to the point of being black and burnt tasting which permeated everything else on my plate. It was inedible and I returned the plate. The waitress asked if I... More
