Expensive but worth doing once (or twice)!

Went twice during our visit to Yosemite (did not stay at the hotel) for lunch and for dinner. If it’s a special occasion I recommend having dinner there once, just to experience the space in candlelight. It is a completely different vibe than at lunchtime. However, lunch is more reasonable (or... read more

If it’s a special occasion I recommend having dinner there once, just to experience the space in candlelight. It is a completely different vibe than at lunchtime. The Ahwahnee Dining Room is definitely an amazing architectural achievement as is the whole hotel. It fits perfectly into the park and transports a great vibe and authenticity. The food is fine but doesn't live up to the expectation and the price. Service was friendly but a bit clumsy to be honest. As there isn't any real competition in the... More

We spent one night at the hotel and had dinner and breakfast in the dining room. Our dinner was so delicious, w. excellent service by Jerry who has worked in that position since 1976. Impeccable service: I had swordfish w/ delicious sides, my bf had osso bucco which he devoured, The Awahnee experience in that grand room is not to... More

Dinning here is a MUST experience if you are in Yosemite. The buffet breakfast is outstanding ! Come hungry! I love the strong Pete's brand coffee. The staff is friendly and attentive , my water glass quickly refilled. To dine here is to enjoy, you are not hurried, but can relax in a beautiful spacious room. The daily soups are... More

The Ahwahnee Dining Room is a real treat. It is a grand room with beautiful views from its tall windows. The dinner menu offers fine dining. It is pricey, but worth it. If you are on a budget, the lunch menu is more affordable. Either way, the food is delicious, definitely worth treating yourself. For dinner, dress is resort casual.... More

Grand hotel room, looks like Hogwarts. Bo before it gets completely dark to enjoy views outside windows. Huge ceilings, high windows. Worth the splurge, even if on a budget. Do it after a hard day's hiking as a reward. But just stick to an entree and a glass of wine/beer. Skip apps and dessert.

or maybe lunch, again , with a lover to spoil. Pancakes got to over $20 before some common sense in pricing by NPS and the Concessionaire were restored. They have a huge Christmas feast

It's all about being here and the supposed views. Even though we were seated by a window the view was of some over grown landscaping/weeds. Food was very good. Probably shoud eat here once.
