Overpriced and overrated

You're paying, of course, for the historical setting and unique ambience. Spouse and I both enjoyed the price rib, mine M-R and hers M. Both were cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pudding is superb. Having checked the online wine list in advance, I decided it was far better to pay the $25... read more

A unique setting for breakfast, we chose the buffet and they had a variety of foods prepared. I usually chose a buffet for the variety and a chance to try new items and not leave disappointed. You could not have asked for better service. Would recommend.

I have to admit I was not blown away by the food but the atmosphere and views are worth a trip to the dinning room. I enjoyed our breakfasts here much more than our dinner. The wait staff is vey friendly and efficient I just thought the food was good but average.

Loved the setting- the food and the service. We had dinner there and loved it. We also ate breakfast on our last day. One of the group got the buffet and said it was one of the best he had ever had.

$45 including juice, tea and coffee. Live piano music and great views of mountain, great service and ambience, worth the visit.

We dined at the Dining Room on our last evening and we did not regret it. The meal was superb and the service was as well. It is not nearly as pricey as some people suggest. It is about the same price as a nice steakhouse. We had the steak frittes, the short-rib pasta, and the mussel appetizer. For dessert... More

so yeah...nothing's cheap about the ahwahnee. it's a splurge. food's certainly good but not being a foodie type, i don't know how it ranks on that sort of scale. none of this matters, however. we dined in this grand old hall as the capstone to a few days spent in the park and it was so wonderful to be there.... We came for lunch at this famous hotel, and were very disappointed by the standard of the food (cold, sloppily dished up and very expensive) and even more so by the rude and snobbish service. I particularly dislike having my plate removed while I am still eating and also having the serving staff return for payment literally a minute after... More

We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the Ahwahnee Dining Room. The views of the grounds and surroundings are fabulous. We really enjoyed breakfast, and also had dinner there one night and it was very enjoyable.

Do yourself a favor and visit the best restaurant in Yosemite, but make a reservation ahead of time, especially for Friday night. It is a absolutely gorgeous dinning room, truly a historical landmark. The food preparation is excellent, and the hard working staff that makes dining here special. It's not even that much of a splurge. The wine list has... More
