The food was good, and served hot, but was pricey for what you got. I had a bowl of chili and a Caesar's salad. The view was nice and peaceful, with squirrels begging at your feet (if you sit outside...which I highly recommend). HERE'S THE TIP: Valet parking. Parking here is at a premium. Shell out $5 (or whatever you... More

We were visiting Yosemite on a budget, but we wanted to see this landmark hotel so we came and had a drink. We visited in the middle of summer when the park is busy.....we could not go into the bar itself for a drink, that was reserved for customers who also wished to eat. However, we sat outside on a... We ate here once during our stay at The Ahwahnee, the service was quick and attentive. The food was very expensive but they have a captive audience here!! We had the burger and wraps, the wraps were quite greasy not sure why. But apart from that we had a great experience.

We were both late and underdressed for lunch in the Grand Dining Room at The Ahwahnee (even though we tried...) and so we ventured first into the bar and then out onto the terrace, where we found some shade with a friendly and attentive server. We had a reasonably simple lunch from their short menu and accompanied this with a... More

On a hot summer day, this bar saves it. We had manhattans and smoke salmon and trout plate with Caesar salad. It was delicious. You do not have many options when you are in Yosemite National Park.

We stopped here after a hike. The architecture of the hotel is very interesting and the venue is very attractive. It seemed very busy on a Friday afternoon. I am glad we weren't staying here but I loved walking around the foyer and enjoyed my non-alcoholic cocktail. The shop had high class tourist merchandise with price tags to match.

Most people aren't after a hard day hiking in the valley, but if fancy a wonderful bar meal, a cool local ale, and a great view of the valley (a short walk through the grounds and out east along the bike track will give you an awesome view of Half Dome), make sure you end one day seated near the... I posted a review of the Ahwahnee Hotel and mentioned one of the drawbacks to the place was the lack of food choices. Apart from the Dining Room, there's only the Ahwahnee Bar if you didn't bring along your own supplies or grab a bite from the Village. We ended up at the Bar because on the last night of... More

We were here when the dogwoods were in bloom and the weather was perfect for sitting on the veranda and drinking Park Avenues. The bartender, whose name I'm sorry I didn't get, was most excellent. When I'm stressed now I imagine myself right back there, it helps.

The Bar is actually a cafe that serves reasonably priced food with very friendly and attentive servers, located in the historic Ahwahnee Hotel. Having vacationed in Yosemite Valley for over 10 visits now, I can say, hands down, casual dining in the Ahwahnee Bar is the best place for your time and money (with the exception of the Ahwahnee Dining...
