passing through and stumbled on this

Found this place late in the evening and stopped to check it out. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was great. The salad was good, the trout was great, the steak was good, but the huckleberry cobbler was out of sight. will return

Servers were friendly and helpful, we had bison steak ,bison burger and house salad. There were all good. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends.

We ate two dinners and one breakfast here. On each occasion we were seated promptly, but then had to wait what seemed a long time for our order to be taken and again for the food to arrive. The water waiters were all good at refilling glasses regularly both before and after food arrived. The actual food was decent and... More

My wife and I visited for lunch. As a starter we had artichoke dip with pita ($9.25). The dip was excellent. We both had bison burgers with mushrooms, cheddar cheese and fries. ($15.50each). I had a snake river 16 oz ale ($5.15). Ann had lemonade ($2.50). The bison burgers were excellent. Go with a side salad if getting the artichoke... More

I thought the service at Obsidian was bad, then Canyons, but this one tops the cake!! We went in early for breakfast, about 7 am, plenty of time to order, eat and get over to the visitors center to meet with the park rangers when they open at 8am for my kids to get their junior ranger and GS ranger... When staying at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel or the general area, there are limited places to eat, understandably, since Yellowstone National Park is mostly wilderness. You have a small grocery store, a "Grill" fast food (counter service) place and the Mammoth Hot Springs Dining Room. The Dining Room is NOT worth it. It looks very nice and has an... More

We really enjoyed dinner at Mammoth. Watched the elk across the street. I had the trout tacos and my husband had huckleberry chicken. Both very good. The real treat was the berry cobbler and ice cream we shared, very good. Excellent service.

Breakfast here was included in our hotel price, so you would expect the restaurant to be geared up for 50 or more guests to eat here. Think again. When I want breakfast in the USA I don't expect to be told there is a 30 minute wait for a table as I see a half-empty dining room. Nor did I... More

We had a nice dinner there and the bill was around $35 each, which is really more average than pricey, I guess. The view is good if you are by the window. There were elk all over the lawn and everywhere outside. We had drinks as well as our meal and everything was nice.
