Bison for lunch

I had a Buffalo burger and she had the Buffalo Bratwurst. It was the best lunch in the area and we learned we could get box lunches for tomorrow. Sitting outside enjoying the fantastic weather was superior to eating inside.

There were plenty of options, and it was much more convenient then driving into town to get lunch like we had originally planned to do. That said, the food was basically cafeteria food, nothing memorable. Here is a tip though, the lines for this place can be pretty long around lunch time. We decided to get into line a couple... This cafeteria is located in Canyon Village in the same building with the dining room, deli/ice cream shop, and gift shop. The menu is posted where you come in and pick up a tray, but it's a bit confusing because the room is set up with different stations. Everyone does not have to go through the same line or to... This was our usual Brunch destination for all our days in Yellowstone. The food may not be all that great on an absolute scale, but we preferred this to the other food options in Yellowstone. The portions are good (such that you don't stay hungry, but not so much that you feel too stuffed. Stuffing yourself may not be a... More

It's not like you have a lot of choices to pick from. If you do stop to eat here which we have done several times, just know that it is OK. If your expectations are kept reasonable then you will not be disappointed because this place is nothing fancy. They have a short menu with just a few options to... More

We ate dinner here twice during our Yellowstone stay and my husband ate breakfast at the cafeteria several times. We avoided the crowds by getting in early to each service. Each time we had friendly, helpful service. For our dinners, I had the small turkey dinner platter one time and the small penne pasta platter the other. My husband had... More

In my opinion, the cafeteria serves sizeable portions of reasonable food at good prices. We ate there all three evenings of our stay in Canyon. The hot food menu was a bit limited and doesn’t seem to change. We tried turkey, chicken and prime rib, with various combinations of sides. The chicken was our favourite. I found the prime rib... We had lunch here on our way down from Lamar Valley. We both had the Huckleberry BBQ Chicken. Ok, the chicken has to be precooked frozen chicken. I didn't see or taste any BBQ on it and from the looks, it was precooked frozen. The Huckleberry Sauce may have been good on something else, really sweet, but not bad, it... More

My husband and I went here for ice cream one night..... Just beside the cafeteria is their ice cream shop.while we are appreciative that the supervisor on duty did redo our ice cream with gloves on.....It is kind not a good idea to be eating ice cream here. We have something called norovirus that comes through here every year and... More

The food was good, but be sure the check the prices when you're buying. We had the huckleberry chicken with bbq sauce. Ok, I saw your eyebrows go up on that one, but it was good.
