Best Fried Chicken Sandwich

This must stop in Cincinnati is fantastic! Worth the wait and trust me, you will be having to wait to get a table (2 hours). We arrived at 4:45 p.m. and didn't get seated until 6:45 p.m. We had the fried chicken sandwich and the macaroni and cheese, The sandwich is topped with the best vinegary... read more

We got there when they opened so we could easily get a seat. I have to say that I am not a fan of their "communal seating". It is so awkward! We all had chicken sandwiches and all agreed that they were just o.k. Service was average. Had to wait a long time for change. We have had better visits.... More

I tried many delicious items. Apps - brown sugar bacon was thick cut and sugary, okay but nothing to rave about. Pickled mixed veggies were very good. Apps were only $4. Spoon cornbread was sweet and dense, almost like a dessert. Fried chicken very good but the hot honey is what makes it outstanding. Caution hot honey is very spicy.... More

What a find in OTR. Fantastic food with an eclectic atmosphere. Free range Amish hand breaded fried chicken is hand breaded each morning. A whole chicken & 2 sides could not be finished by the two of us. Plus there is spicy honey to pour over it if you wish. People in suits, people in jeans & hipsters. You either... More

This place was recommended by coworkers.... Went on a Monday, where many restaurants are closed nearby. The wait was about and hour, but it was worth the wait. They jot down your cell # and call you when your table is ready, so while we waited we walked around and visited the shops nearby. Apparently an hour wait is really... More

Chicken sandwich, mac and cheese , spoonbread and otr iced tea were very good. Menu choices very small and lengthy wait time for that reason would not visit again. Service was great

If you go here, get the chicken sandwich instead of the other chicken option. They are cooked differently. The consensus is the sandwich is spicier, has really good flavor and comes with a great slaw on top. Also, spoonbread absolutely worth trying.

Right in the middle of the Gateway Quarter of Cincinnati's Over The Rhine neighborhood, this is a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. Their fried chicken is delicious, as are their grilled cheese, mac and cheese and maque choux are all highly recommended. Be prepared to wait at peak times, but service is good and so is the... The fried chicken at Eagle was not bad by any means, but it was also nothing special. Eagle was very crowded but both the chicken and sides were pretty average for anyone used to eating good Southern food. Not a bad value and not a bad choice if you are in the area and craving chicken but nothing to go... More
