Culinary excellence in suburban Cincinnati

This chef-owned restaurant is a small gem in Blue Ash, a northeast suburb of Cincinnati. I have been here several times over the years, most recently last Saturday. I had what the menu listed as "two birds," a combination of a perfectly cooked duck breast and some house-made pheasant sausage. Also... read more

I was extremely disappointed in my dinner at the brown dog cafe. The cafe was recommended, but the person noted that service can run poor and inconsistent. Our dinner was terribly over priced and under delivered. It started with the waitstaff forgetting a glass of wine, despite reminding her. She also forgot one of our appetizers. We admitted defeat and... More

The menu selections are varied and a little something for everyone. They have a huge wine list and speciality martinis. The best Sea Bass I have ever had. Menu is unique! Small and charming decor. Husband had venison which was good but growing up in a rural setting with hunters in the family, we had had better. The corn chowder... More

Brown Dog Cafe looks unassuming from front and is located in a strip mall. However, once inside you get a true gourmet experience. Menu is innovative with many interesting choices. They state local sourcing. It is not cheap but quite a good value for the food and experience.

creative dishes without being overworked. Somebody in that kitchen knows how to cook! I cook a lot, so I appreciate what is being made at BDC. Can't wait to go back.

This quaint little restaurant in a small strip mall offers over the top cuisine. Don't be fooled by the location when you pull in. The place offers limited seating which allows the head chef to create some of the best, most unique meals I've ever had. The menu changes frequently so I never get bored with the place. I am... They serve a variety of types of meat that you don't often see, much less see done well in a restaurant. The Venison Wellington was delicious. My sister had the duck and pheasant dish and said they were delicious and my sweetheart had fish which he enjoyed. The chef changes the menu often though, so don't count on seeing the... More

I went to Brown Dog Cafe twice recently once for dinner and once for lunch. It's located in a small strip mall in a suburban setting next door to a Subway restaurant. The level of cooking is definitely higher than one would expect from such a setting. You can have a very nice lunch there without spending a lot of... More

We took advantage of a promo offering two 3 course dinners for $60. The food here is unique and priced accordingly. If we had ordered ala carte it would have cost considerably more, Expect to pay about $10 (or more) for a glass of wine and most entrees are in the mid $20 range. Service was very good as was...
