I made reservations for 4 on a recent Friday evening as we happened to be in town during my wife's birthday. Rode the trolley from Covington and it dropped us off at Fountain Square and then a short walk here. Place was easy to find and very quaint inside. Were seated right away and had Christian wait on us. He... More

In Cincy for my bday, Spencer surprised me with Nicholson's for dinner with family. The atmosphere is great - has that look and feel that it has been there a long time. The bar area (IMO) was the best place to sit, talk and people watch. Our group started off with Spinach and Artichoke Dip/Belhaven Beer Cheese - both delicious.... More

Just a few blocks from most of the downtown hotels is this nice pub. While on a recent stay we ventured out for a light appetizer and cocktail. We selected the smoked salmon on toast, duck fat fries and lobster mac. Of the three the smoked salmon was by far the best choice for us. The duck fat fried were... More

Tried this restaurant since it is across the street from the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Reservations are a must before a show. We were very early for dinner and got one of the few tables available without a reservation. Number one positive was excellent service. The Fish & Chips dinner was very good - however the tiny serving of... More

But noisy. That's my only complaint. Live band on the Friday night we were there. And we were in the back of the restaurant. Could hardly hear the other couple sitting across the table. Add that to the noisy big crowd at an adjoining table, and we couldn't enjoy ourselves after about 90 min. But the food was great. Wonderful... More

Went to Nicholson's last weekend. The menu was just what we were looking for - fairly simple but nicely prepared. I must say that the restaurant has the most amazing scotch selection. I went light and ordered the calamari fries appetizer and a Caesar salad. The calamari was not the best I've ever had (a little tough) but the salad... More

Very nice place; good layout, lots of wood, etc. Large selection of drafts and whiskeys, as well as good food. This place never disappoints

I found this because it was listed as a craft beer place. Well not really. It had some craft beers, most of which were Scottish - I believe they had like 6 taps. Mostly bottled, and that selection not broad. The Scottish eggs was good, but a bit salty. The "breakfast burger" was good too - not great.

Was in Cinci for a conference and Nicholson's was a 5 min walk from the hotel. I always try to frequent pubs wherever I travel and this did not disappoint. Arrived in Cincinnati, had dinner next door and strolled over to Nicholson's enticed by the sound of Irish music floating over. Sat down to a pint of the Old Speckled Hen and an 18 yo McCallan and some great regional music from a band called FinTan. The service was friendly and the selection was excellent. We have several UK Pubs... More
