Good food, great atmosphere

This is a really cool place! The atmosphere is unique, and it really has the look and feel of a Scottish pub. We were there on a Monday night, so it wasn't very crowded. While spending the evening downtown with another couple, we stopped into Nicholson's for dinner and drinks. Hubby enjoyed a Scottish beer while I had wine and our friends had cocktails. One ordered a vodka tonic that turned out to be a little drink with a big price. She didn't order a second. Hubby and I had the Shepherd's Pie which... More

We stopped in for appetizers and a pint! The smoked salmon was delicious & a nice portion for two to share, the lager was excellent, the skinny little table/booth a great spot for people-watching, & our server was very personable! Loved the decor & the kilts. Next time we will go for dinner!

We stopped here for dessert because my wife saw they had sticky toffee pudding on the menu and her co-worker recommended it. She got her pudding and I got the Chocolate Pot de Creme and I wish we'd done the whole meal there! It was delicious, the scotch list is impressive and the service was good. They had live music... Loved the salmon served at dinner while seated at a table beside the sidewalk. Would return without hesitation for this piece of fish. Cooked so perfectly. Soft meat on the inside. A delicate crunchy crusting on the outside. Bursting in flavour (I'm Canadian; that's

This is a very good but not quite great pub. The location is fantastic - right across the street from the Aronoff Center in downtown Cincinnati. There is a decent selection of beers on tap, and they have a deep listing of malt scotches. The menu is short, but most of the selections are good ones. The Shepherd's Pie is... More

The Tavern has great atmosphere, great experience to see servers in Kilts. The food is really good , everything we ordered was immaculate, although ironically a scottish pub was out of scotch eggs. Great selection of beer and also scotch. Very nice atmosphere with very friendly staff!
