That seems hard for others to do, but Alfio's does that. We happen to be a couple that has definite preferences for beverages, so right off we were both happy. The local beer scene is booming and they capture a great sample of each. Wines by the glass covered the range. We walked up and there were seats up front... More

The food was much too buttery and creamy for our tastes. There are some appetizers and salads which aren't but that's not really enough of an option (e.g. if we are rating this restaurant based on its salads it just doesn't cut it.) In many cases this was very disappointing. For example one of the specials was a south american... More

After seeing this place on the Best of Cincinnati list in several categories, I was expecting phenomenal food. My husband was really happy with his mussels, but I was a little disappointed with my mahi mahi with risotto, which had so much sauce it was like rice soup. The flavors were great, but it wasn't the perfection I expected based... More

Had a superior meal with family and there was a lot of moaning and sounds of delight from everyone at the table. Our server Steve was both knowledgable and personable. We tried several dishes! Great ambiance...perfect!!!! I wish I could give them a 6!

There are many chefs but few have the talent and heart of Alfio. He is an artist who uses food to create delicious masterpieces. When attending his wine dinners (strongly recommend!!), he takes a flavor note from a wine and invents a dish that emphasizes the flavors perfectly. He has never made anything we don't LOVE! Plus, his passion for... More

Great place on Hyde Park Square. First time I've ever seen an Italian/Argentine dual menu. Portions were surprisingly large; lamb risotto was very well done, and they had a pretty nice wine selection as well. We'll be back now that we're close by!

Visiting our son in Cincinnati. He heard great things about Alfios. They were right! He ordered the butternut squash soup which was so good, very thick. The grilled romaine had a great flavored dressing, just a little too much of it. I had the pistachio crusted salmon on top of butternut squash. Very tasty. Took some home. Tasted the chicken... More

What a wonderful find in the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati. It is a hidden gem for sure! It is well attended by locals who are obviously regulars judged by there familiarity with the servers and the handsome young owner. Steven was an attentive and knowledgeable server who had the patience of a saint--I had to try three separate wines... More

This was our third or fourth trip to Alfio's and the first after their award-winning show at the Taste of Cincinnati. If anything, the food has gotten even better, and our service was excellent. My wife and I went with another couple, and we all enjoyed the evening thoroughly. I had mussels as an appetizer and, for my entree, the... More

I had just read of Alfio’s unprecedented feat, winning all three categories (Appetizer, Entrée and Dessert) at The Taste of Cincinnati, when by happenstance I was invited to join some friends for Alfio’s monthly Six Course Wine Dinner. As this restaurant was now on my radar, I eagerly accepted. When I previewed the menu, which included Nutella Mashed Potatoes in... More
