Hidden gem!!!

This restaurant has so much to offer. It is one of the coolest places you'll ever see (I mean, you can EAT in a KILN!) and has a great food selection. It's a neat place to grab a bite with friends and share small plates, or enjoy a nice meal on a date. It truly is one of my favorite... read more

Food is tasty and beautifully presented. Since the building is historic, it can be pretty cold and drafty on a winter day.

I am VERY picky when it gets to pancakes, and I can say I probably tried 90% of the pancakes available in Cincinnati. The Rookwood WINS with their Ricotta/Lemon ones. The Croque Madame was also very tasty. The benedict ok but not to the standards of the other dishes. Would definitely go back!

My family enjoys going to The Rookwood because of its history, atmosphere and delicious home grown meat and vegetable, all local to Cincinnati. Our server Grant was especially good explaining much about the building itself and the quality of food. Small plates was a great selection for our group! We will be back!

The Rookwood was on our itinerary for our 2-day "run away." We were looking for places to go where we could relax and depressurize, and this location exceeded our expectations. We started with beverages - a lovely Sangiovese for me and a cocktail for him, and ordered appetizers of Devilish eggs and Dirty olives. For my meal, I selected the... More

Seems like they are trying to be trendy or artsy. However, the shrimp pasta dish was very bland and tasteless, and expensive. The fish was average- nice presentation but not that tasty. The drinks at bar were varied... had a good long island ice tea at the bar, and the next one at the table was purely awful- big difference... More

Had dinner here and was seated in one of the kilns. I was not too fond of the stark black walls but had great company for dinner. If you do not like enclosed spaces would not opt for the kiln location. The menu was interesting with small plates and large plates. I had the eggplant and hummus small plate with... More

At the end of a long drive, I was looking forward to finally having the opportunity to dine at this restaurant for which there is a lot of history. While the food and service were both good, I found the selection to be disappointing for a restaurant that has the reputation of The Rookwood. Will I return - Yes, but... More

I've been to The Rookwood twice, once for brunch and again for dinner. Both times were memorable. Located in Mt. Adams, the skyline view is beautiful and parking is plentiful with their on-site private lot (a luxury in this neighborhood). The decor is simple, which allows the historic kilns (private dining areas) to take center stage. The staff were attentive... More

The history of the building it awesome but the view is just as great. Food was good, service was excellent and the drinks were cold
