Carnivore's Delight

I got the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly. A little too generous with the salt. Hubs ordered a beef dish which he claimed to be excellent. The bread basket was outstanding and you really have to rein your appetite in or you will fill up on it. The pasta was a bit disappointing. The... read more

When we first visited Nicola, years ago, Over-the Rhine was not "OTR" and we were admittedly worried about going there. But it came so highly recommended and we were going in a large group so we tried it and, boy, were we glad we did!. Really, honest to goodness, delicious traditional Italian food prepare by contemporary chefs, served with great... More

We have been several to Nicola's over the years and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The menu is a mix of delicious, time tested dishes (the gnocchi!), and selections based on the freshest seasonal ingredients. Service is timely, friendly and courteous, and never overbearing. The bread basket is beautiful and addictive. Good wine selections and cocktails as well. You won't... More

Best place in cincinnati so far. The food is very good and tasty, the bread is delicious. I would recommend a salad and a pasta dish to share between two people, the deserts are also good. I had the pasta with fava beans and i think it is the dish that will make me go back.

ask for main dining room- they opened an 'annex' which is strangely down an adjacent hallway- but still served by same kitchen. My family often choses this as a special occasion restaurant. Always valet- not in a great neighborhood- but worth it. Bread basket always a big hit!

My husband and I went for dinner and weren't sure what to order so we decided to do the tasting menu to get the best overall experience from the chef. Presentation was amazing on all of our dishes. Everything was beautifully crafted and tasted amazing.

Nicola's was one of the first restaurants that tried to breath life into the downtown scene. It started out great, but seemed to fade with the passage of time as the food quality started to diminish, as well as its hipness factor. It has been several years since we have been here, primarily because the last experience was so so.... More

Went for restaurant week last week. Service was nice and prompt. Food was good. Others loved their dinner, mine was good. Will definitely go back soon.

Three couples and 7:00 reservations. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were greeted with a smile. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was incredible. The place was packed but we had no lag in service whatsoever. Dinner was off the chart. Green Gazpacho and Foie Gras was split by my husband and I, and was... More

First off, the portion sizes are very generous for a fine dining restaurant. Secondly, the staff is excellent and the food is fantastic. Probably one of the top five restaurants that Cincinnati has to offer.
