I have lived in the area many years but only been here a few times. Recently I returned with my lovely wife for a romantic dinner. The food was uniformly delicious and inventive. Although advertised as an Italian restaurant I would reclassify it as Italian-inspired. Wide variety of creative dishes such as roasted broccoli salad in buttercream sauce, boucheron goat... More

Happened on this place with a friend - called for reservations at the moment and told half an hour wait. Well worth it (nice bar to wait at). Food, especially pastas, rather remarkable and great combinations. Good staff (if a bit obsequious) - excellent wines. All in all, a memorable experience.

We treated my mom for her 70th birthday-- and chose Nicola's for the special occasion. Loved the beautiful roaring fireplace in what used to be a carriage house. We sat upstairs-- and while I would have preferred to be closer to the fire rather than be tucked in a corner-- we had a great night. Food is delicious, handmade, carefully... More

I came here with my family for my birthday and it was a perfect choice! The decor is charming and the atmosphere is perfect for this type of restaurant. This restaurant gets very busy, however the staff is so very good at what they do and service runs perfectly smooth. First, you start off with a bread bowl which has... More

This restaurant deserves 5 stars, even before you get to the entrée. Upon arrival, you want into a romantic and historical building that will just take your breath away, seriously. If you want to take that special someone to dinner, this is the place. Beautifully adorned with service that is stellar. They first start you with a bread basket. Let... More

It's a fact that Cincinnati has lots of great steakhouses. But, there's more to dining out than steak. If you're looking for a perfect evening, in a beautiful environment, Nicola's is the place to go. The food is spectacular! Not inexpensive, but you have to pay for perfection. This is not a flashy "scene". The wait staff is not dressed... More

This restaurant is my favorite Italian restaurant outside of Italy. I have visited this place numerous times and consider Nicola (Nick) Pietoso a personal friend. I guarantee that you will not find better Italian food in many other similar places. Both Nicola and his son Cristian are true artists that have graduated prestigeous culinary institutes in Europe. The cuisine excells... More

The boucheron goat cheese and salad is one of my favorites ever. It was so delicious, I could have had two. I should have! My wife and I shared the gnocchi and it was very rich but extremely delicious. It paired well with the Lamb Osso Buco we also had. This restaurant was everything we thought it would be and... More

Fairly expensive, but the great food is worth it. Our appetizers were seared sea scallops in a white wine sauce, and foie gras covered in a fruit paste. Scrumptious. Entrees were gnocci in a delicate cheese sauce and veal osso bucca with green cous cous (flavored with a broccoli reduction). Dessert was panna cotta with apples diced in tiny pieces).... More

My sister and brother-and-law took us to this restaurant last night. Absolutely wonderful. Creative plating and combinations of flavors. Our table did a lot of sharing so I had bites of the pork belly starter, foie gras, goat cheese salad, broccoli salad, and gnocchi--all were outstanding. My main course was the osso buco, served over fregola sarda--somewhat traditional, but the... More
