For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running white tablecloth restaurant in the city. Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood and service. This consistent high level of quality and overall guest experience over 3 decades has endeared Precinct to celebrities, businesspeople, families and loyal diners alike.

A steakhouse that can do amazing things with seafood. Loved it!

Visited with steak-eating relatives (tasted the filet mignon which was perfect sans the many sauces they offer). Ordered the sea bass on a bed of mushrooms and lobster bits in a beurre blanc sauce and found the fish so perfectly done that I ate it with as little sauce as possible and used the... read more

The Precinct is one of Cincinnati's best restaurants. Formerly a police station, and one of Jeff Ruby's many restaurants around the Cincinnati area, The Precinct is a cut above the rest. The steaks are aged and cooked "Philadelphia style" - slightly charred on the outside. The filet is my favorite, and enough to share for 2 people. The sides are... More

The Precinct has long been one of the crown jewels of the Jeff Ruby restaurant chains. Sometimes overshadowed by its downtown Steakhouse counterpart or Carlos & Johnny, The Precinct always delivers like an old friend. Last evening my wife and I celebrated my coming 64th birthday and under the watchful eye of Brandon Ruby and our excellent waiter Bobby Keagan,... More

We had one of the best meals ever celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. We were seated in the bar room, which we weren't so sure we were going to like. Turns out we like it so much better - much more casual feel yet still beautiful. The service was outstanding, and of course so were the meals. I even received... More

Service and food were excellent! The price check was quite high. A bit out of our price rang, probably won't go back. Cost more than Carlo and Johnny's

Great food in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The steaks are outrageous as is everything else on the menu!

Beautiful place, the food is decent and the service is good, but it is quite pretentious and pricey. Like most of these upscale restaurants everything is al cart. It is an older crowd, because most young people cannot afford it, and a bit stuffy. I would go back if someone else is paying.

Precinct opened bar area last year and truthfully I prefer it s atmosphere to the front restaurant. Restaurant seating is a little tight. Specialty is steak and their bone in selections are as good as they get. Much better than a Morton s, Ruth Chris, or the Capital Grill. Sides are tasty with Freddie salad being a favorite. Love their... More

The food is always great, service unbeatable. Great place for special occasions, but now that they have the bar area with food you can go for a slightly more casual experience as well - although still expensive.
