My husband and I recently dined at the Summit restaurant which is part of the Midwest School of Culinary arts at Cincinnati State. Our meals were excellent and the servers were very attentive and cordial. You get a first class gourmet meal and also help the students who are learning all aspects of the culinary industry. prepared by the culinary arts students. It was very busy the night we were there so service was slower than normal. We were well cared for and we amused ourselves. And we had 13 in our group. Will definily go back again.

...because the students worked very hard. The hostess and wait staff were incredibly friendly. They did a very good job except there was a fairly long gap between the first and second course. The food was pretty ordinary with nothing really exciting on the menu. Both of my dishes needed more salt. The room definitely felt like you were eating... More

This restaurant has only two full-time staff members: The chef and the front-of-house manager. The rest of the staff is students. The food & service are consistently very good, and the wine selection & pairings are inventive and interesting. The bar offers cocktails as well, and those are always eye-opening.

Our first visit, and wow, we were impressed. The service was elegant and very professional, the atmosphere much nicer than expected, and the food outstanding. We enjoyed our reasonably-priced (by restaurant standards) bottle of pinot noir. My crabcake appetizer truly was the best crabcake I ever have tasted as well as a substantial portion. Husband's salad was beautifully plated and... More

The Summit has quickly become my favorite in Cincinnati since my wife surprised me with a wine pairing dinner there. Fantastic food cooked by the students, interesting menu and great special events. My favorite was a game wine pairing dinner. A true asset to Cincinnati turning out chefs that will make the rest of the city have better food :)

The Summit is an integral part of the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State but the food & service are far from student cooking experiments. The Summit is one of the hidden jewels of Cincinnati dining. The menu is relatively short but full of fun with appetizers ranging from quail to poached pears. The special appetizer this time was lightly... More

This maybe the big secret in Cincinnati. The Midwest Culinary School at Cincinnati State has a resturant open Thirsday thru Sunday. The food is awesome and service always first rate. Menu changes reguarly and they have all kinds of events every month. Try it and you will see the hidden jewel of dining pleasure.

We recently dined at the Summit while visiting our daughter in Cincinnati. We had a wonderful evening with excellent food and service. We were fortunate to visit right after pastry finals so had access to several creative and delicious desserts! The decor was very nice. Our server was excellent - she paced the evening nicely and was very knowledgeable -... More
