Shared a relatively late Saturday night dinner in late September. First, the space is pleasant -- hard surfaces but a high ceiling kept the noise level tolerable. Good sound track. Lighting was a bit dim for our aging eyes, but is probably fine for 20-30 year olds. Otherwise bring a cell phone light or good glasses. The food was uniformly... More

We were on driving circuit of Eastern Washington and based on a recommendation from a friend had made a reservation at Saffron in Walla Walla. They did lose our reservation, but more than made up for it by seating us at the chef's table. Starters and main course for both myself and my partner were all wonderful. I kept it... More

We live in Portland so we have access to many wonderful places, but this is our favorite and a "must" when we go to Walla Walla. The dishes are spiced in an inventive and delicious way, and the wine list is great. Reservations generally are a must. If you like food with an ethnic quality, this is your place! Not... More

Small, but wide ranging menu of everything from Greek to Moroccan to Spanish food.Appetizer was a special salted/roasted small green pepper, mostly mild-split this. the hanger steak ($28) was melt in mouth great and a large portion, as was the lamb tagine ($28). my only beef was a short selection of walla walla wines by the glass. Service extremely knowledgable and... More

On a recent trip to the tri-cities area, my local friends had me experience this fine restaurant in Walla Walla. It was well worth the drive from Richland as the Mediterranean cuisine was eclectic and the wine list was terrific. Wait staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Mezze for appetizer was quite unique with unusual ingredients and thin flat... More

Melon gazpacho, sounded a little "odd" especially when our server stated it features diced Walla Walla sweet onions.....excellent, and the experience went up from there! Makes a soul want to visit Walla Walla more often.

Saffron came highly recommended by locals, and we were glad we had followed their advice. We had a very enjoyable evening dining at this restaurant. Saffron is very small, and consequently it was somewhat crowded and difficult to get a reservation--even on a Tuesday night. We shared "the counter" with another couple. It was actually a great place to sit;... More

We ate here six years ago and had high hopes that the quality had remained high. We were pleased to find out that it has indeed remained so. Our dinner was delicious from top to bottom. Our wait person was charming, attentive, and helpful. We both had the steak from the menu (rather than a special for the evening). It... More

Showed up on time, gave the owner our name and party of 2 and was told that we did not have a reservation, that we probably made the reservation at another restaurant (not a chance!) and would seat us only if another table did not arrive in 3 minutes. Besides being embarrassed by this woman owner, she told us we... More

Wonderful food place recommended to us by a former resident of Walla Walla. This person also suggested a reservation as Saffron is both small and well discovered by many as a Mediterranean restaurant not to be forgotten. We had fried peppers and flatbread to start before launching into two other offerings too complex and delicious to describe in detail. If... More
