Best meal we had in Walla Walla!

This restaurant came highly recommended to us by almost everyone we told about our long weekend in Walla Walla. We made reservations ahead of time - definitely need to do it, especially for a weekend night. From the moment we walked in until the meal was over, we had a spectacular evening. Our... read more

My girlfriends and I dined at Saffron at the recommendation of friends. It was within a few short blocks of our hotel, the Marcus Whitman. The food is not focussed on particular country but, rather, inspired by various Mediterranean cuisines. They have a wood-fired oven which produces delicious pide (Turkish flatbread) and the best roasted fingerling potatoes I've ever had.... More

This is, quite simply, the most creative restaurant in Walla Walla, one that would stand out in a much larger city. My wife and I ate here twice in a recent stay. The quality of the dishes ranged from very good to OMG. The kitchen's subtle but distinct hand with spices and ability to put finely crafted food on the... More

A Washington Wine Country gem! A small menu on which I wanted to order just about every item - thank goodness there were four of us who tasted one another's appetizers and entrees. Brilliant flavor combinations without being pretentious or avant-garde. Service was exceptional and the Sommelier Phuc Nguyen is brilliant - more than just listening and then guiding us... More

This restaurant is pretty expensive, but quality of food does not justify the price. We ordered lamb & beef tartar (Carne Cruda) as appetizer, which was very good. Our entrees were hunger steak and king salmon. The steak was fine, but salmon portion was small and dry. Wine list is small, expensive, and the choice is not that great. The... More

Beef cheeks were very good. The girlfriend says they were perfect. As she chuckles. She is so beautiful.

We arrived at Saffron after a long, and arduous drive - and asked for a table in 20 minutes. We were then forced to stand in a cramped, and hot area by the door for around 15 minutes, waiting for a response. All the while the waitress was mingling with other customers, blatantly ignoring us. We then had to accost... More

Sunday evening , not many restaurants open in Walla Walla so they were busy. Food was flavorful but NY steak was average for the price $39.00, it should have been great. Wait staff never refilled water.

Our meal was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a while. We did not experience any of the rude attitudes described in other reviews. The restaurant is expanding, so likely some of the complaints about less-than-optimal table or inability to accommodate larger parties will be addressed. Know that you have the opportunity to experience outstanding cooking, artfully... More

Service was fantastic and the food was very good. Ambiance was cozy cafe. The only reason I gave it four stars is I expected more vegetarian selections. The kitchen worked with us making existing items vegetarian but more selections would have been nice.
