A jewel of a place

Incredible Mediterranean fusion restaurant in downtown Walla Walla. Lamb tagine was to die for--delicious, served traditionally. Flatbreads always tasty. Cozy atmosphere and attentive servers. Don't expect to get out on a budget: between the wine list and entree prices it's definitely a "special occasion" restaurant for me.

We came expecting a "fancy" meal that we could not find elsewhere. We were not disappointed as our meals were both unique and tasty.

This was way beyond my expectations. A delightful late lunch after golf. Had the lamb, sausage and shrimp flatbread and pomegranate blood orange sorbet. Some of the best food I have ever had at a restaurant! The service was excellent although we were the only party dining in at the time. It was slow since it was early Sunday.

Very small and cozy. The food is very good. Choices are limited. Service poor. We waited at least 10 minutes before our waiter came to our table once we were seated. Once drinks appeared, it was at least 10 or 15 minutes before he reappeared.

Anytime we are visiting Walla Walla, we have to remember to make reservations ahead of time at Saffron! It has always been excellent and this visit was no different. Our reservation was at the "bistro bar" and it suited us perfectly. Our waitress (Kimi) was excellent-very attentive, dealt with our uncertainty on what to order with a smile and suggestions,... We arrived in Walla Walla, and on checking into our hotel, we were recommended to this small restaurant, and our hotel check-in clerk even phoned ahead to make sure there was a table available. The available table was for 10pm, but we were running on East Coast time, so wanted to eat a whole lot earlier, So as it was... More

We came here because the food is said to be excellent, with a lovely warm decor and a fascinating menu. Reservation recommended gave us a nice table and we began in some abandonment, highly recommended though I saw numerous couples quietly dining. A walk to the guest room revealed a strong presence of chefs in the rear, perhaps too hidden... More

Ambiance Saffron is well appointed in casual wood and wine themed furniture. It is a bit cramped, we have often made friends with our fellow diners since the tables are very close. Also, Saffron fills up fast. Please be certain to make reservations a week or more ahead or you'll not get in. Staff Cheerful and helpful. Always a good... More

Creative and exciting choices or small or larger plates. We tried several. Especially recommend the flat breads. Very crowded which made the service a bit slow but worth the wait. Great wines as well as food.
