If you are looking for Mexican tamales, you need to keep driving West. If you want to try Mississippi style tamales, this is a great place to stop. Yes, the tamales are greasy! Yes they are seasoned different. But the Fiesta plate is a little lighter than just straight tamales, and is my first choice. And where else are you... More

If you like tamales, then you have come to the right place! You can't beat the recipe of these tamales and I can't say enough how awesome they are! I could eat everyday!

The tamales are ok, but you better eat them fast, they get too greasy for my taste if you let them cool off. I had chili with my tamales and it was not a chili that I would eat again. It was just like the tamale filling. It had no beans and was greasy when it cooled off just like... More

These were great Mississippi style tamales. Mildly spiced ground beef, a bit greasy, wrapped in corn husk. The masa had a good flavor. The place is near the waterfront, so I picked up a dozen and some beer from a nearby convenience store. I ate half of them by the river along with some ice cold watermelon for dessert. The... More

I spent an hour trying to find this place after getting bad directions from Urban Spoon. Tamales were very good.. tea was terrible, had a bad aftertaste like they used heavily treated tap water. The place is very run down... which is not such a bad thing but will probably keep some people from trying the food.

Kind of place I like, out of the way, not much to look at, sketchy neighborhood, but oooh the food. I would recommend you stick with the tamales as they are very tasty and just like they should be a bit greasy, wrapped in corn husk and steaming hot. Eat with ketchup and hotsause with saltines. Pickem up and take... More

Solly's is hardly anything to look at and at first look, you may think you should skip it. Don't! If you enjoy tamales, and I do, well these are awesome. I am so glad I decided to stop and sorry I didn't grab a dozen more for later! There is limited place to dine in and most do take out,... More

Every time I am in Vicksburg I buy 3 or 4 dozen, take them home and freeze them for when I really have a hankering for them. Usually with beer, friends and a ball game. Better than pizza.

Great old style tamales. Corn-husk wrapped, then foil wrapped per dozen, then newspaper wrapped to keep them warm. You can load up a few dozen for your cooler and microwave them. They came out great a day later. Mild with a small hint of spice. If you want to juice them up, use the salsa or the hot sauce of... More

The tamales were tasty but pretty small. The prices are excellent and they also have pralines. They aren't as good as the one's in Savannah..but do satisfy your sweet tooth!
