Ate here due to its proximity to the Holiday Inn where we were staying overnight. The restaurant was packed, so we took that as a good sign. Nice décor with the restaurant being divided into sections which would be good on quieter evenings, in that it would not be apparent if the restaurant was half empty. The menu seemed extensive... We enjoyed El Sombrero's food, atmosphere and the service was very good. I had the chile rellenos and they were awesome! Worth a trip and located conveniently next to the Holiday Inn Vicksburg. Thanks for a good experience!

First off, you can dis-regard the NEGATIVE reviews for this restaurant. The food was very good, the service was fast and excellent. Recommend this restaurant.

The food and service were both very good. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I ate in but my husband ordered takeout so he could re-warm and eat later. Unfortunately, the takeout was in aluminum pans and since we were traveling, we didn't have anything to transfer it to, to reheat in the motel room microwave. I guess... More

It was conveniently located opposite the Holiday Inn. It was a typical Mexican restaurant and so we went for fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. Good size portions and plenty of salad and usual fillings. Good substantial food, well cooked and the service was good, friendly and attentive. Excellent value for money.

Walked here from the Holiday Inn we were staying next door. After being seated we were asked by 3 different waiters for our drinks order, despite not being given drinks menus. Finally ended up with a couple of giant margaritas. The food itself didn't look very inviting, and we found it to be very bland and greasy, with little (if... More

We stayed at a hotel nearby and the guest services recommended this place. And after a long day driving, the margaritas really hit the spot. Food was really good, service was very friendly but a tad slow, and the atmosphere was quite festive. I would definitely recommend as either a family place or a quick stop for drinks after work.... The food was hot but barely edible. Ordered tamales with sauce on the side. The tamales tasted watered down like they washed the sauce off. Ordered queso and it was a bowl of orange grease so we didn't attempt to eat it. Enchiladas were crunchy. Do not recommend this restaurant.
