Went here for the first time in October and all I can say is it was the nicest meal I have had in my 2 weeks in the states. We requested for the chef to prep a starter sauce for us consisting of peppers, chilli and jalapeños and they were more than happy to accommodate this for us. The flavour... More

Fish tacos and chicken fajitas. AWESOME! Beautiful scenery and pleasant staff. Enjoyed atmosphere with my husband.

Usually when I go to a Mexican restaurant I can't stand the different smells but at El Sombrero I actually enjoyed it. There is a nice ambience and the people are very nice and inviting. I normally don't eat much but this night was the first time in a long time that I finished my food and really enjoyed it.... More

Ate here 3 times in my weeklong stay in Vicksburg, and loved each time. The service was great, but the food was even better. This was the best mexican restaurant I have been to in years. No matter what you order you will be happy. The beers came in a nice large mug, and both the food and beer were... More

This is a fun Mexican restaurant to try. It's well themed with a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was a little hotter than most Americanized-Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. Much of the food was closer to "true" Mexican. Prices were reasonable and we enjoyed the meal.

Ate here due to its proximity to the Holiday Inn where we were staying overnight. The restaurant was packed, so we took that as a good sign. Nice décor with the restaurant being divided into sections which would be good on quieter evenings, in that it would not be apparent if the restaurant was half empty. The menu seemed extensive... We enjoyed El Sombrero's food, atmosphere and the service was very good. I had the chile rellenos and they were awesome! Worth a trip and located conveniently next to the Holiday Inn Vicksburg. Thanks for a good experience!

First off, you can dis-regard the NEGATIVE reviews for this restaurant. The food was very good, the service was fast and excellent. Recommend this restaurant.

The food and service were both very good. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I ate in but my husband ordered takeout so he could re-warm and eat later. Unfortunately, the takeout was in aluminum pans and since we were traveling, we didn't have anything to transfer it to, to reheat in the motel room microwave. I guess... More

It was conveniently located opposite the Holiday Inn. It was a typical Mexican restaurant and so we went for fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. Good size portions and plenty of salad and usual fillings. Good substantial food, well cooked and the service was good, friendly and attentive. Excellent value for money.
