Don't go here if you're a Japanese food traditionalist. They use their imaginations to come up with their own variations on Japanese food, with their sushi rolls really illustrating this. I had a maguro roll infused with garlic and sprinkled with garlic chips. It was delicious! Large menu though with great variety. Perhaps the traditionalists could actually find something there... Our family dined here twice and really enjoyed it, thoroughly recommend the garlic scallops and the honey toast lives up to its billing.

It was my first time in Hawaii and one of my friends who I was visiting suggested this place for an early dinner. He knew the menu inside and out and he made ordering simple for us... I wish I remembered exactly what we ordered but all I remember is the sushi pizza and that everything we ordered we liked.... More

I went here with two friends, one who is a vegetarian. There were people waiting outside, a sign that good food awaits. Although it was crowded we were seated quickly. A fairly extensive menu with food meant to be shared. A favorite was the house made tofu. I also enjoyed the cucumber shiso salad. Overall food was good, and great... More

I've been here a few times, and the overall experience is consistent. The food is amazing! The service is very good, although I did have to wait a little long to close out my tab, but they were great and helpful in selecting what to eat. The drinks are also amazing, try the Vodka soda! The parking is very convenient,... More

We went for an early dinner with my 9 year old daughter and were duly impressed. The ramen dishes we had were very tasty and my wife has the sizzling garlic shrimp and it was very good as well. The Honey Toast was unique and fantastic. A great way to finish the meal. The staff was very friendly as well.

Wow excellent food, great cocktails and really wonderful (and beautiful) staff. I used to come here once a week with my colleagues for lunch. It was fantastic! But it was hard for me not to order the monstrous honey toast every time! This place is a must if you are on Oahu! Priced accordingly.

We have been here quite a few times over the years on our trips to Honolulu and the quality of service and food has been consistent throughout. Tonight we discovered the fresh homemade tofu. We were not sure what to expect and it turned out to be great like all the food we've had at Shokudo. For tonight we had... More

Tonights visit earns a two star. The spicy ahi they served tonight was awful. it was brown and very slimy mushy in the mouth. And most of the food we ordered had this on it. Spicy tuna roll, spicy tuna nachos, that sushi with the crispy fried rice with spicy tuna on top. I do not think it was spoiled,... More

First visit to Shokudo as guest of a friend. Wonderful menu, so much to choose from. We had 3 dishes and all were delicious. Try the tofu salad and the tempura.
