We went to Roy's last time we were in Hawaii and had a great experience with lovely food and drinks, eating outside. This time we were seated inside the restaurant and the atmosphere was poor. Very quiet with waiters rushing, people hushing and not much atmosphere. Our waiter was clearly rushed and not terribly engaged. The cocktails weren't very interesting... More

Very nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. All staff were very attentive, considerate and polite. We had fried dumplings that honestly were the best we've ever had. For dinner we had the fillet and NY strip, both cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. Pineapple upside down cake was awesome.... ohh and the martini's were shaken perfect as well!

This is a busy and noisy restaurant. I got the impression that maybe a bit too busy as we were left waiting a long time between interactions with our server. The complimentary edamame beans were a nice touch but I was sure our server had said bread was being baked and would be out shortly- it never appeared until we... More

Had dinner here tonight with my wife, and we had a good time, enjoyed the food, but both had the feeling it was more a 4 than 5 star experience. The interior looks a bit dated, however the food was very, very good.

My husband and I went here for dinner while on our honeymoon on the recommendation of someone in Kauai. I have to say that this was the best meal that we ate on our entire honeymoon! We both had the tasting menu along with the matching wines. We went here expecting good food, but we were blown away by just... More

We have had dinner at Roy's every time we have visited Hawaii in the past six years. Each time has been a wonderful experience and we are already looking forward to next year!

I can't vouch for anything but the sushi and dessert, since those are the only things I tried (unfortunately), but I am a huge sushi fan (I eat it at LEAST once a month), and this was one of the best rolls I have ever had. I had both the shrimp and soft shell crab ones... Dessert was decadent--the chocolate... More

We made a booking on Open Table. Admittedly we were 20 minutes late, but the girl said they only kept bookings for 20 mins. We then had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Turns out our table before was just slow in leaving. Nothing to do with us arriving late. Anyway, good was well worth the wait. I had... More
