Try the fish

Try any fish you can get your hands on. This is the best food we ate in Honolulu by a long shot. So good we came here twice. The service was great and the food sublime. They could use a little sound insulation to lower the noise level a touch. Apart from that it's a great place to dine.

The food was fine but the overall experience was just ok. It was pricey and very loud. There are just a lot better places. You can order just a smaller portion of the fish for lower price or larger potion with sides.

So, we didn't listen to fellow reviewers telling us we better reserve in advance when trying to get seated at Honolulu's best eateries. Turned out to be a good thing because when we called Roy's, all they had available was a seat at the Chef Counter. We had awesome cuisine and saw the team in action. Very impressive. On our... More

Returned to Waikiki for a wedding anniversary. Last ate at this Roy's 3 years ago. This time had the $50 set price meal -- just ONE OF THE BEST MEALS of the trip. First course - one large shrimp on a skewer, one pork rib, one spring roll. Great tastes and textures. Chose the short rib for the main course... More

Everything from start to finish was Fantastic! Service was beyond wonderful! The server Evin 's was personable, on point, and sociable. He engaged us in conversation every time he came back to the table. The table assistant was there every time we pushed a plate away or emptied a glass. He also made it a point to engage us when... Service is charming and sincere. Very kid friendly and efficient. Can't say I was very impressed with the food, yet, highly recommend the Hibachi Grilled Salmon! A must try dish.

Having been to a Roy's restaurant before, I had high expectations for this here. It did not disappoint. The food was superb and the service outstanding. This was one of the best meals we had on the island. We ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairings, a great value and wonderful presentation. You can reserve through Open Table. We... More

We had dinner here on a Friday evening. It was fairly busy and the first thing that I noticed when we were seated was how noisy it was. We shared the crabcakes as our appetizer - fantastic! My friend had the salmon and I had the scallops. The scallops are served on polenta and accompanied with green beans that are... More

Went here for a light snack at lunch time as well as an evening dinner and on both occasions everything was absolutely great. The service and the food is brilliant, can highly recommend this place to any traveller. Try any fish dish, you will not be disappointed!
