Worth a detour -- fish as fresh as can be

I was treated to dinner here with friends. I sampled a variety of fresh fish items that were new to me. I recommend the Poke trio which was a great sampling of fresh tuna in several sauces.

on the way to the airport and was looking for a quick meal. Stumbled onto this place and they were extremely accommodating. Meals were cooked/grilled perfectly. Waitstaff explained the items clearly. Given the opportunity we would definitely go back.

If you want to get off of the beaten Waikiki path and try something different, head to Uncle's fish market. We all enjoyed our meals here and it was consistently good. Friendly staff, responsive to reservation request.

My wife and I have had dinner and lunch here a couple of times and each time the food is fantastic, the price is fair and the staff are great. If you are visiting Hawaii take time to get out of Waikiki and drive a short distance to Uncles, you will not be disappointed. Try the Garlic Ahi or the... More

We went as a small group and my daughter wanted chicken as she doesn't eat seafood. The menu stated allow 1/2 hr for chicken so she ordered right away and they told her it would be at least an hr. She left and went to a place across the street. We stayed and had AMAZING fish. Highly recommended for the... More

This was an Ok dining experience. If you are on your way to or from the airport it's a good choice for a meal. The staff is friendly and the prices are good.

Trendy setting, great feel and good crowd. They take reservations, and those were needed on a Friday night in April. The poke sampler is quite wonderful, and their main dishes with fresh fish were both well prepared and tasty. This is not going to be cheap – but by Hawaiian standards it's just business as usual. Definitely recommend it, but... More

Our family of 3 tried Uncle's based on all of the great Trip Advisor reviews at the beginning of our vacation and enjoyed it so much that we came back twice. Our hotel was in Waikiki but Pier 38 is very convenient as a stopover if going to the Pearl Harbor sights, the North shore, or to the airport. Parking... More

Whenever we go to HI we always stop at Pier 38 for fresh fish. Nico's is a favorite but this time we decided to try Uncle's. It was a great decision. When the hostess asked if we had been there before we told her that we usually ate across the parking lot. Her response was a sincere "I'm sorry". Everything... More

I had a seared ahi salad for lunch. It was not inexpensive so I expected more for the price in terms of quality of the ahi, it didn't have a real sear on the surface and was ice cold. The portion of fish may have weighed 2 ounces, the bed of lettuce was fresh but small and I paid $21.... More
