Off The Beaten Path, Great Casual Seafood!

Look for Pier 38, and turn in to Fisherman's Village. There are a few businesses along this pier, and Uncle's is one of them. Took my boss to Uncles for Seafood at Pier 38 on Friday. Got their early because this place gets packed quick. He had the Snapper and Chips (Special) and I had the blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwhich. The Mahi Mahi was perfect and tender and his fish was fresh and crisp. You cannot go wrong when the back of the grille... More

AZ boy in Hawaii so had to have some seafood. Friend had seen the wharf area restaurants and we decided to try Uncle's. Great market feel when you walk in, friendly staff. My first Poke Tower - beautiful presentation and just delicious. I ordered the "Mixed Grill" of "Large Prawns, Giant sea Scallops and fish fillet", what I got was... More

The food was fresh and cooked excellently. No doubt about it. I enjoyed my red snapper very much and my husband's ahi was superb. It was definitely expensive, though. Unfortunately, it was apparent our server just did not give a crap. Her rude attitude was off-putting. Service was just not good. My water didn't even get refilled. I'll go to... More

We were told to try Nico's or Uncles. We went to Nico's for an app and wasn't that impressed. Went over to Uncle's for another app (this is our usual dinner) and tried the Ahi Poke app. We went back once again just for the Poke - it's that good. The ambiance isn't as upscale as Nico's, but the service... More

My girlfriend took me for a b-day lunch. When you enter, the interior is quite impressing with high ceiling and old photos of fishing seneries thoughout the restuarant. Despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty, the waitress lead us to the very corner seat and right behind was a door where staff coming in and out. On top... More

Went for dinner and the atmosphere was good, I greatly enjoyed watching the old videos of Hawaii fishing. The calamari appetizer was fantastic, not the typical rings that we have all had but a steak that was so tender and flavorful. I had the Uncle's Grill which was scallops, shrimp and fish. It was good but small for the price,... More

Nicos seems to be most diners favorite at pier 38 but Uncle's is a more quiet, homely restaurant right across from Nicos that serve just as good food without the crowd and waiting. Granted, Nicos has live guitar music and the bustling atmosphere, but it also has the lengthy waits for a table and the noise of crowded restaurants. If... More

A group of us went to dinner at Uncle's on a suggestion by a local. Located at Pier 38 the restaurant is a bit tricky to find, it's a bit of a walk from the parking lot. We started with the poke trio and the fried calamari steak as appetizers. The trio was fresh and the three different pokes was... More
