I've been to really, really good Yakiniku places in Japan, and none of them were this expensive. Although the quality is MUCH better than the normal yakiniku-ya in Hawaii, Gyu-Kaku is too expensive. Even the gyu-kaku in Japan is not this expensive! Overall, good quality, nice ambiance, attentive wait-staff, but over-priced. more

We saw this restaurant in one of the advertisements on the street and thought we'd try it our first night in Honolulu. It's not a huge restaurant but very nice wait staff. During our honeymoon stay in Waikiki, we really wanted to try a restaurant that served Kobe Beef. We did a quick search on Google and came up with Gyu-Kaku and luckily it was only a couple of blocks from our hotel.
