Great restaurant and setting

This place has the best outdoor seating with hawaiian singers and a hula dancer. No reservations so go early- we went at 6:00 and got good seating. Mai Tais are good. We had the burger and it was absolutely scrumptious! Yes - it is expensive. It might have been $22.00, and order of fries is... read more

Pleasant surroundings next to the beach / ocean. Buffet is great with many island favorites and includes a variety of desserts as well as made to order omelettes.

My wife and I had just come from a week in Maui... (which was lovely in all the ways you'd expect Hawaii to be)... and landed in Honolulu to the sounds of police sirens and a view of huge buildings and chain restaurants everywhere. Amongst all the loud touristy nonsense, was a quaint little restaurant called House Without a Key.... More

Dined her with three business associates. In addition to being unremarkable it's menu is down right strange. Three burgers, a pasta, and assorted other dishes. No rhyme or reason to it. The food was okay -- although one burger was overcooked and my mahi mahi was just average. The service was good. All in all, not worth the price and... More

We were there in late July. We went to watch the sunset and see the Hula dance. The restaurant is very open and there were tables set up on the lawn. The entertainment was very relaxing and Skylar the Hula dancer was very good. We met her after her performance. We would return for the delicious food and entertainment.

We dined twice at the Halekulani's House Without a Key in August 2015 and found the menu had been revised. We were disappointed that the Beef teriyaki sticks were not on the appetizer menu. The beef short rib offered as a main course was delicious, the flavors of island cooking with just a bit of a twist for the palette.... More

The food is pretty good but the coconut cake is truly exceptional. Light and delicious. I highly recommended it, perhaps for dessert and drinks.

Drinks are good, nice view/sunset, live music and hula were great. Service good. That's about it. Food was ok, way overpriced, and limited menu. Better off at Denny's across the street.

Go here before sunset, enjoy the tasteful elegant hula and music, not touristy or tacky. Enjoy a cocktail maybe some pupus, but I would eat dinner elsewhere. You are here for the hula, the music and the most beautiful sunset setting in all Waikiki.

We were very excited to eat at this place, as the reviews were so good. If you go there, you are paying for the view and the atmosphere. It was a very relaxing and fun evening, but the food was not very good at all. I am surprised they charge 40/plate on average because they were not yummy. But the... More
