We live on the windward side of Oahu and rarely venture into Waikiki. After reading good reviews, we celebreated my boyfriends birthday here. Service was adequate, at best. Beautiful, relaxing vibe at this gorgeous hotel. Its gets crowded at sunset each day -- there is an outdoor bar with wonderful sunset views. Bring your camera, listen to the Hawaiian band, sip a cocktail and watch the sun set. Interesting name taken from a Charlie Chan novel... more

When you think of Hawaii as a tropical paradise with gentle tradewinds, Hawaiian music and Diamond Head in the background, this is the place! We've been to Hawaii more than ten times. Each time we go to Honolulu, the first thing we do is to go to House Without A Key at the Halekulani Hotel for sunset drinks and pupus (try the coconut shrimp). This place is fabulous. I'm so thankful for other TripAdvisor members who rated it #1 in Honolulu or I probably would have never found it. We went to 3 different islands, ate out in Hawaii for 17 days (all at Trip Advisor recommended spots) and this was by far our best dining experience.
