Dinner, very good dinner, in Rome's Sistine Chapel is somewhat unlikely for most people. Honolulu diners enjoy this opportunity regularly. This wonderfully painted venue, painted by the owner's own hands ( even though that is the story, it's more likely he used brushes) is a wonder. On a busy... read more

We "accidently" ate here the first time we enjoyed this restaurant. The second and third times were not accidental at all. Expect slightly unusual, and delicious, Italian food and a wait staff who is attentive and knowledgeable. The food and wine pairings were perfect each time. The setting with the wonderful paintings covering the walls and ceiling make it a... More

On a busy night it is a noisy wonder with consistently satisfying food.

Hadn't been here for a while. Was duly impressed but not surprised that the quality of the food was still great in presentation, freshness and flavor. Being one who is adverse to salty food I was delighted that the seasoning was low in sodium. Matter of fact I even had to add a pinch of salt to the Bruschetta to... More

Celebrated my birthday. Parking in building was free. Servers were friendly and courteous. Menu had a wide variety of Italian styled dishes. In the past, I have had fruit of the sea served with puttanesca sauce (you must request this-not on the menu) I had wild boar sausage in a rich sauce with gnocci. Plenty left over to take home for... More

Upon walking into the restaurant we were automatically greeted by patrons, who instructed us that we had to check-in at the back of the restaurant. Once there, rather than being greeted by the host, he asked if I had a reservation and what my name was. He gave me a double take asking if that was really my name. Once... More

There are very few decent restaurants near the Blaisdell Concert Hall. We dined here before the opera. The servers were aware that we needed to be at the opera before 8:00 and made certain that service, although not feeling rushed, was fast enough that we could be on our way in time. The service was excellent. The food had some... More

Café Sistina on King Street, a few blocks in-between Downtown and the University area, came highly recommended to me by several locals. Most would tell you its among the two or three good local Italian restaurants here (although I still prefer Assaggio across from the Kahala Mall). Nonetheless, you will have a very good meal here featuring a untraditional Italian... More

This restaurant serves very tasty, food in a modern, eclectic atmosphere. The art on the walls is wonderful and provides a topic of discussion during dinner. If you are a meat eater, I suggest trying one of the sausage dishes -- they are really good and a bit unusual. Everyone in my party of 8 loved their food. Oh, and definitely... More

We love to have dinner here! The owner, and chef, painted murals on the walls and ceilings to resemble the ageless Italian flair. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgable. The food is wonderful. I like the Boar sausage pasta. The sauce is so good. My husband likes the seafood pasta. You really cannot go wrong with any choice.... More

The food is good but the view is superb. The owner has painted Vatican size murals on all of the walls and they are extraordinary. Our server was delightful and my veal Bolognese was quite good. My husband chose a pasta dish with mushrooms and bacon and really enjoyed it, saying that the pasta was cooked just right. We shared... More
