Most enjoyable dinner in Honolulu

We were lucky to come when they celebrated their 50th anniversary! They had seared scallop, tempura shrimp, oyster shooters followed by a soft shell crab salad, veal osso buco, sorbet etc. The food was delightful to the eye. It was cooked to perfection. The view was amazing!

What a beautiful view. I highly recommend this restaurant but be aware: dinner can be pricey. Our mains were very good but I object to paying $50 for a piece of fish!

Try broiled lobster, scallop, fish combo for dinner. Perfectly cooked. Our favorite breakfast was the croissant with eggs and fruit. The croissant is buttery and the eggs stay hot due to being mixed with a bit of light cheese. Delish. Hawaiians said the food is much better now so they must have changed to a very good chef. We loved... More

We visited the restaurant as a family based on TA reviews and it was great. I ordered the pre-fixed menu (surf and turf) and everything was delicious. The serving size was extremely generous and cooked to perfection. My son and husband both had one of the fresh fish options (red snapper) and they also loved it. It is right next... More

On a Saturday we decided to treat mom to a special birthday lunch at the Hau Tree lanai in the New Otani Kaimama Hotel in Waikiki across from Kapiolani Park. Beautiful atmosphere, outdoor seating under the huge Hau tree. With a view of Waikiki beach and the blue pacific ocean, we were in for a delightful afternoon. Our waiter arrives... More

We had another bad experience with the food here. The New York steak (at close to $50) tasted as if ithave been fired a day early and, reheated. Although it was ordered medium rare, it arrived very well done and super-tough. (To be fair, the waiter offered to bring another one, but we didn't want to wait as the other... More

A delightful Lanai under the hau tree. Service was good and the menu excellent. Choice of local fresh fish made for delicious meals, but in addition we had the added atmosphere provided by sunset over Waikiki and Friday night fireworks.

This beachside restaurant has lanai dining around an ancient hau tree. We went for the sunset, but found the multiple choices of kinds of fish and types of preparation quite a wonderful dining experience on our last night in Hawaii.
