We were at Hau Tree Lanai on a Sunday evening, right around 7 pm, 6/28/09. The sun was getting ready to set; there were many still on the beach waiting around. We had a great seat, right on the railing. I enjoyed the special that evening which was Opakapaka, a pink salmon, which was very good. We also a split... more

This ended up being our "expensive" night out. It was around $100 for 2 of us but very good and worth it. We did not make reservations but they were fine with seating us. We arrived around 8:00. We attempted to go a couple nights earlier, walking from Waikiki, but the street does not have good lighting and we didn't... more

I had a coupon from the entertainer so we decided to go. We walked down the beach and it wasn't quite what I expected but it was very nice. I got some great pics of the sunset. The food was amazing. I had the mahi mahi plate. It's very expensive and classy. Probably wont go there again, but I had... more

This is my favorite restaurant. I"ve been to many other #1 places and nothing compares to Hau Tree Lanai. The setting is fabulous - you are dining right on the beach under a beautiful trees; very romantic and intimate setting. The food is delicious and they provide very nice portions. They prepare fish 5 different ways and also have a... more

Well, I have been to this restaurant with my spouse after reading reviews over here. Its simply the best restaurant i have been. I have taken the seat close to the end of the ocean and i have ordered the four course meal of the day. And one more dish to my dear. They give quite an amount of time... more

We made reservations here for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner and were not disappointed! We let everyone order from the menu and the choices were varied but everyone said they were delicious and they all looked wonderful. The staff could not have been more attentive. We just picked this restaurant from the reviews and I was not disappointed. I was... more

We made 7:00 reservations and requested a table by the water. It was the most stunning view possible, and my only regret is that I did not get a picture of the sunset. My butter sauteed opakapaka was possibly the best fish I have ever had! I kept hoping other restaurants would have this fish on their menus, but I... more

I would definately recommend this place for couples on a romantic gettaway, the food and service were really good but if you have kids it is a little more upper class, I know we felt a little uncomfortable when our toddler threw his potato across the floor. more

The Hau Tree Lanai is on the beach in the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. I had five meals there in April 2009: three dinners and two lunches. The food is amazing. I had a duck breast sliced and served over a poi pancake, garnished with diced fresh mango and other fruits. I had a mixed seafood grill, with lobster,... more

We went here at the recommendation of the concierge at the Marriott. We had an amazing table right along the beach. We caught the end of the sunset and watched as the last stagelers left the beach. It was enchanting. It was a welcome escape from the hustle and noise of Waikiki. Plus it was "Spam Jam" that night and... more
