This is local food prepared in the most brilliant way. Side Street is constantly patronized by world class chefs visiting Honolulu. If you are a fan of only slick looking cookie cutter gimicky corporate chain restaurants this is not your place. If you love the great cusine of the family owned ethenic neighborhood restaurants of New York & Chicago you... more

We visited Side Street Inn on our last night and it was absolutely heaven! It's best if you can go with a lot of people as everything is served in large (tasty) portions family-style but we didn't have that choice. However, we got 3 dishes and managed to eat most of them. Holy Yum! more

Yes, we went because it was on No Reservations-- it was so worth it. The pork chops were to die for. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. A quick tip--check out one of the local Hawaii newspaper cookbooks-- they have the pork chop recipe in it! more

This restaurant is in a bar, next to an auto repair shop in an adult entertainment district between Ward Street and Waikiki. You will wonder why you wandered into this neighborhood until you try this restaurant's food. Don't dress up or you will look wierd and feel out of place. The Hawaiian fried rice and sauteed mushrooms are to die... more

The food and service were great. Wine by the glass is risky, the two glasses I had were "bad", the bottles had obviously been opened for quite a while. more

Given the discreet location off a busy, cramped alley, it's all about the food here. Sure, it's a popular after-work and late-night spot, but it's the fantastic food that keeps people coming back here. The popular pork chops are good, though dry at times. The spicy chicken is just the best fried chicken dish I can remember. It has a... more

We read about this place in Frommers. When we asked for directions at our hotel desk they asked us "how did you hear about that place?" We had to wait a while for a seat at the bar. The side street inn rogue ale is quite tasty and a nice way to start the meal. The 'small plates' are large... more

This place is a treat. Great food at a great price. It is not for the average tourist who is looking for pretty, light, or healthy fare (although the poke was the best I had on the island). It is also not for those looking for atmosohere, white table cloths, and candles. Who is it for-those looking for amazing asian... more

The food here is fabulous! I highly recommend the pesto crusted Ahi, Kolbi bee ribs (we ordered 'boneless'), and fried rice. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge -- family style! Order several plates and share - great food. Their pork ribs are great too. They didn't have the pork sliders on the menu - it was Father's... more

Wow! We went here on the advice of a colleague and couldn't have had a better meal in Honolulu. We especially loved the fish (whole snapper) and the fried rice, which we're still thinking about days later! This is the kind of food you wish your mother had made, and you wish you got at restaurants where you paid twice... more
