Good eats for locals or tourists

This place was packed at dinner time. Good thing we had reservations. The fried rice was excellent as was the beef dishes and the fried chicken. We also had the Caesar salad, the "light" size. Good thing we didn't order the large size as our order was very large. Their version of garlic fries was... read more

I've been to Side Street Inn a couple of times because my husband is a fan of the pan fried pork chops but I'm not a fan. Nothing really stood out and was memorable. PROS: Portion: The food is served family style so the portions are huge. The quantity is there, I just wish I could say the same about... More

The first time I tried the food here was 2 years ago and it was very good. I heard that chefs would come here to try their food as inspiration for creating new dishes of their own. However, this latest visit was more of a disappointment as the food was just not as good as before. We had the Hoisin... More

Everything we ordered here was delicious! The pork chops, the fried chicken, the kimchi fried rice. The portions are huge also!

Loved our meal here. A group of 8 enjoyed our meals here two nights in a row. Yes, we went back! It was that good! Loved the family style service. Love our waiter, Kyle. He really made it fun! He joked around with us, but he also KNEW the menu and guided us through ordering. We had plenty of food,... More

This was our third visit and we really like this place. This time I had the Hawaiian style short ribs or Puleho style that were an A+......really really good. Remember, if you are not a left tackle on the football team portions are large, order a salad to split (Nali was excellent), split a sidedish and an entrée. Full bar... More

First off, our waitress, Sara, was excellent. She was super friendly and helpful with our selections. The following entries is what me and my husband did and did not like. The garlic fries and escargot are top notch!. The basket of fries are HUGE. Their draft beer is $4 which is very reasonable. We tried the Kalua pig sliders and... More

We had nalo green salad which was nothing special. Plus there wasn't enough dressing on it. For the entree we ordered the pan fried pork chops. I can't believe all the rave reviews about this dish... mom makes much better pork chops than this place. And ketchup for dipping?? That would've been perfect... if I were 5 years old. To... More

I ate at the Side Street Inn with a colleague who lives in Honolulu. It was very good and I agree with the comments that say "come hungry". Portions were huge and the food was excellent. They said that the fried rice is "award winning" and it was certainly the best fried rice I've ever had. We also really enjoyed... More
