I say it is a great choice for real food because the best food I had on my trip was from Side Street Inn. The pork chops, scrimp scampi, and fried rice were my favorites. I visited it twice while and both times the wait was over an hour. We decided to eat at the bar which was good since... More

The food was amazing! The portions were very generous and extremely reasonably priced. We had 5 people and ordered 4 dishes and ended up taking a lot of it home with us. Our waitress was so nice she was quick with the drink refills which was so important since we were dying of thirst. She was also very kind and... More

Because then it might be even harder to get in! It's a local haunt not meant for tourists, and I'm the tourist who wants to keep it that way. Never mind that I found out about it from Anthony Bourdain. Outstanding food you might describe as gourmet Hawaiian comfort food. Large servings are meant to be shared family style, in... More

My son's boss recommended that we eat at this place while we were on vacation in Hawaii, but when we saw it, my first thought was, "How much does you boss like you?" My description of the exterior was "seedy", my son's description was "sketchy". The interior didn't look much better, but when the food came, all appearances were forgotten... More

Highly recommend it if you are on vacation and looking a place to eat outside of the Waikiki area, to get there take the # 2 eastbound on Kuhio Ave (about 10 minutes), ask the bus operator to let you know when to get off, you will see a Prudential Insurance Building across the street from the bus stop, the... Recommended by a local, we decided to try it out as we can't stand the junkie food in Waikiki. We walked from the Marriott, less than a mile, to this place. However, you can also take the #2 bus. It's maybe 5 min away. We walked by the entrance twice before realizing it was there. It's in the Prudential building... More

This place has very good food. Went here last year. Relatives took us here for dinner and place is nice and also packed when we went. Service was good even if restaurant was packed that night. This is a must try when you're in the area... and dont forget to order their fried rice, it's super good!
