This place is tucked away literally down an alley. We got there after 5pm and the place was filling but we had no trouble getting a table. By the time we left there were enormous queues out the door so I would recommend getting there early. The food was fantastic with enormous portions. We got the fried rice, pork chops,... More

Fried rice was amazing, but everything else was lacking. I ordered ahi tuna rare and it was cooked well done. They said they couldn't cook it rare...however the kitchen took it back no problem and let me get something else off the menu. I got the smoked pork. It was smoked like a hot dog is smoked. Not bad but... More

Fun, friendly, big tables for large family groups and heaping plates of good, hearty fare. Try the fried rice with or without kimchee, Korean BBQ ribs, fried chicken and outrageously tasty mushrooms. Reasonably priced, great place to bring an entire family. Portions are huge, so ask wait person to make sure you don't overorder -- or take the remains home... More

Be warned - the portions are huge! Recommend ordering a variety and eating family style. Courteous waitstaff with great recommendations. The boneless Kalbi Ribs and Kim Chee fried rice are heavenly. Bring a big appetite!

Food is absolutely delicious! It's worth the wait! I'm told that this is where many chefs go after they get off of work and once you eat here, you will know why! The pork chops are to die for! I was introduced to this restaurant the last time I was in HI 2 years ago and couldn't wait to come... More

Side Street Inn on Da Strip. This is recommended by the hotel is a good local place for dinner. Upon arrival we ordered a couple of MaiTai's. At seven dollars each, they might be the best deal and all of Honolulu, and they're very tasty. For dinner we had marinated beef ribs and fried rice with pork. They were both... More

During our 11 night stay we ate at Side Street Inn three times - need I say more? Whilst I did expect the ambience to be better the food certainly made up for it. Must eats are House Special Fried Rice and Pork Chops - yum! We also tried (on separate occasions) the Caesar salad, Katsu oysters, Katsu chicken, Chinese... More

OK, you have to know this before you go, this is not fine dining. Yes, they offer valet and yes you should make reservations, but this place is far from pretentious. It's family style dining, so bring your appetite. The prices are reasonable and the service was good. We had the Calamari, Fried Pork Chops and House Special Fried Rice,... More

As a tourist, the original location on Hopaka Street is far more interesting then the new one on Kapahulu Street. The servings are satisfying, large, tasty and served by attentive staff. Pork chops, fried chicken, the "Works" fried rice and Farmer's Salad are excellent. Take your family and friends and everyone will be impressed.
