I love this place

The Waite might be long and the parking sucks but the Hawaiian food is well worth it. I love that you can buy everything ala cart with portion sizes that allow you to try many different thing. So Ono!!!!

This is a very [popular restaurant for those locals and tourists who want authentic Hawaiian food. They are open only four days a week (Tuesday thru Friday), from 10 am to 7:30 pm. The wait staff and the owner's mother (she was the daughter of the founder (first opened in 1946), Helen Chock) will carefully explain what the different items... More

We were lucky enough to catch another perfect meal at Helena's before their summer break. Pipikaula short ribs are the reason I come visit Oahu. Order the menu D which has a little bit of everything and you won't regret it! Mahalo for the best meal ever! When you see the line, go inside leave your name then go back... More

We went here a few times. The food is average compared to other Hawaiian restaurants. I wouldn't recommend this place. It also cost more at Helena's. We like "Highway Inn" better because the food taste better. I'm going to recommend Highway Inn as the best Hawaiian food on Oahu. There's one in Waipahu and one in town on Ala Moana... More

We went for lunch on a Tuesday and waited 30 minutes outside the door for a delicious meal. It is not a fancy place but appears to be patronized by both locals and tourists alike. All the items we had were good and inexpensive. After much spam in Hawaii, I was dying for some greens. I saw watercress on the... More

Friendly service. Fair prices. Nice portions. Try to go early because the line starts fast. Parking is a little tight, but street parking available.

Great if you like Hawaiian Food. Stick to the Kalaua Pig, Poi, Ono, and the like. Have lunch there when you visit the Bishop Museum.

This restaurant is off the beaten path....and CRAZY crowded with locals....It's not much to look at, but don't be fooled, the food is terrific. We waited 30mins outside before being seated and the line only grew longer while we were there. Constant table turn over. The wait staff was great and very accommodating. (Thanks, ladies!!) We ate lau lau and... More

After the Arizona memorial, we had a late lunch early dinner. We got a special and added on multiple entrees. Everything was very tasty. We got the beef. It was by far the best. I had the fried ahi. This was a close second. Make sure to try the onions and salt. We also enjoyed the Kailua pork. The prices... More

If you want to eat like a local, eat here. The food is amazing. You have to treat yourself to the short ribs. They're closed Saturday-Monday so plan accordingly. You and your stomach will be happy with this stop.
