This was really a unique stop on our trip to Oahu. We found this place because it was featured on "Man vs. Food" on The Travel Channel. The star of the show was challenged to eat a rather large portion of their fan fried pork and kalua pork. http://www.manvsfoodlocations.com/hawaii-locations.html Thankful for GPS in finding this place located in a local... I had the pulled pork and cabbage and it was truly the BEST I ever had in Hawaii or the Mainland. When we go have to get a double portion because it is out of this world.

We lived on Oahu for several years and became fond of the local cuisine, but had never been to Helena's until our recent stay in Honolulu. Parking is difficult and you'll probably wait outside for a table, but don't miss it. My wife got to try the chicken luau, made with taro leaves and coconut milk and the friendly cashier... More

Helena's has been my go to spot for 6 years. It's the first place I eat when I get to Oahu and the last meal I have before heading back to the mainland. Everything on their menu is delicious but I go for the Kalbi ribs they are amazing. If you drive by and there is a line don't let... More

The pipikaula steak was amazing, the fried butterfish is obscenely smooth and flavorful. The kailua pork was hands down the best - smoky, fatty, exactly perfect. Even the macaroni salad was delicious. Everything was served with plenty of Aloha. Awe inspiring.

A true "Hawaiian" experience where locals come to fill up. Plates are simple, authentic, and small. Its a relatively expensive lunch (and plan to wait as the place is very small) but its unique not only on Oah'u but in the world. Wait staff is very warm and helpful but don't dawdle, they need to turn over tables during their... More

We went there because it is a travel guide's top choice. It's menu was quite economical. The serving size was small which could let customers order more than just two dishes. A good idea. It is close to Bishop Museum so you could go there after visiting that famous museum. The boss was helpful and told us where to hop... More

It's a long wait but totally worth it. You can order the food and it comes in small dishes, almost like tapas. The ribs was the best, chicken long rice noodles was good too. The beef with watercress was also good. I think you can't go wrong with anything here.

We ordered way to much and ended up with half in take home containers. A friend has been going here for year and said it was a DO NOT MISS SPOT for great Hawaiian food....he was right
