Worth the stop. Pig and ribs were delicious!!!! The place is packed for lunch. Don't wait for a table, just place an order to go.

Go for the RIBS. One of the many good things on their menu. You can't go wrong with the Ribs, Butter fish colors, lau lau and the lomi salmon with poke. Broke the mouth.

Great food! Great price! Great atmosphere! Had a real Ohana old Hawaiian family feeling. Staff were very friendly and gave us great service.

We picked up to go on our last day on oahu. The parking lot is tiny and it seems to be in an older part of town.....but man this was good food. We tried several things in a true effort to go"deep Hawaiian" including poke and laulau. All good stuff. Very warm and welcoming host who made sure we were... More

I grew up just a stone's throw from Helena's and never set foot in the restaurant. I guess we were satisfied with where we were dining at but a friend kept mentioning the place so we dropped in to compare. I was very pleased at the food, service and the ambiance. I still like our old stand-by but Helena's delivers... More

Aaah the problem when a great restaurant gets on a national TV show. I'm sure that it really picked up their business which is fantastic since it is a family run local place. Just makes it way too crowded. Oh well. First parking is very limited. Always make sure you have another driver with you. We always end up double... More

I live in Honolulu and I come to Helena's all the time. Once or twice a month..probably would go there more often if I had a car. This place is a must go if you're in Honolulu. Best Hawaiian food..love the pipikaula, kalua pig, fried butter fish collar and chicken luau! These are my favorites!!! The only thing is sometimes... More

I wanted to try real Hawaiian food when I was in Honolulu so we went to Helena's and we did not regret it. The place is far from first class, but the food really made up for this shortcoming. The short ribs were the best. Delicious! And everything else was good, too. I would recommend this place. Definitely.

Tried Helena's because I love Hawaiian Food and locals recommend it. Take the # 2 bus from waikiki to N. School street. Ask for a hug from the friendliest ladies who will give you wonderful laulau, chicken long rice and short ribs. The fish is excellent. We ordered about everything on the menu to try and we're not disappointed in... More

I'm always on the hunt for a local hangout wherever I travel and was only too happy to give Helena's a try. The menu is quite small, but wonderfully authentic. I had a whole array of things. The pig & cabbage was awesome as was the long rice chicken, the ribs although a little tough were wonderfully aromatic and the... More
