A fun day

This is a great place to go to for a casual drink and fun with friends. Nice views over the marina. Very friendly staff. It was actually good to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki for a day. Very similar to smaller sailing clubs in Australia. A step back in time. Food was very good... read more

Good old fashioned Tiki bars are few and far between in Hawai'i these days. La Mariana is a notable exception. It is classic tiki ambiance with tikis, glass floats, and the waterfall (which is restored to working order). It is not so easy to locate, which is fine because it is not overcrowded. The drinks are reasonable and the pours... More

The La Mariana Sailing Club is a hidden gem, if I ever saw one. Off the beaten path in Honolulu's warehouse district, you practically have to get lost just to find it. But, it's totally worth it. The La Mariana hails back to the mid-1950's and is one of the last ORIGINAL "tiki"/south seas bar and restaurants, not just in... More

Read about this in a book on fast fading Tiki bars around the country. This place is the real deal. No fake manufactured pseudo Tiki decor. Old school Tiki charm. Now onto the food and drink. We went full Hawaiian with a Zombie which was quite good and not super boozy. We got the combo pupu which had an interestingly... More

I almost hate to leave the review as I would hate to see this place overrun by visitors. But between you and me, if you have a rental car, get out here! Super fun Tiki bar on the Sand Island Marina. Great drinks, great food, great service!

This is a great, fun, and quite old school tiki bar and restaurant. Food quality? Okay, but nothing amazing. Service? Indifferent at best. Ambiance? The waterfall! The blowfishes! The bar. The sailboats bobbing away in the marina outside. The blind pianist? Warbling standards? Yes, it's all here, and it's a great experience. Was it better twenty five years ago? Quite... More

La Mariana is a fun restaurant located in an industrial area of Homolulu. It's one of the original tiki bars and sailing club. They have not updated decor and that's exactly why it's so charming. Service is pretty good and food, not only good but one of best values in Town. Island drinks like Mai Tais, Pino Coladas etc. are... More

This has been a fav for several visits but no more. 4 of us arrived around 7pm and place was packed so fairly slow service, no problem. Looking around I noticed something was off...all the vintage furniture was gone & replaced with wooden chairs & tables you'd find in a diner...I didn't see the cute little waterfall either. We all... What a spot! The tiki environment and funky vibe is delightful. However on our visit, the staff was very under staffed and frazzled. Even the bar tendering appeared to be lost. We waited over 25 minutes just to get drinks from the bar as we waited for our table. Once we sat down to our table, it took our waitress... More

My understanding is this is one of the oldest Tiki bars on the island so we had to go see for ourselves. Funky decorations, great drinks. If you are down in the area I do recommend stopping in, it's out of the way in a more industrial area but it was close to the bakery we went to for poi... More
