Very Good Breakfast

Went to the New Eagle Cafe today for breakfast. Was good the place is clean and the service good. My wife had the French Toast with 1 egg and Ground beef patty. Good size patty cooked well and egg was cooked as she ordered it. It was only 3 1/2 slices of FT but she said she was full. I... read more

This was a Group-On deal. They have daily specials. The Saimin is the BEST deal. Prices are high but large portions. It is very cold inside - bring jacket. The menu is a book with variety of local foods. Service is great. It is a nice stop to grab a meal, meet friends, before you head to the airport.

Often go here when we can't decide what to eat because there is something for everyone. The oxtail soup is a favorite, as well as the Japanese menu items. Many of the entrees comes with soup or salad and drinks and dessert! A lot of homey, stick to the ribs choices like stews, plus huge salads for those trying to... More

Service and food are reliable. Not Alan Wong's, but a good neighborhood spot with enough variety to satisfy each member of a party with diverse desires.

Food is very good. We had the Kal Bi "korean short ribs", Opakapaka, Hawaiian chop steak, lamb curry. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. They have SPECIAL'S every day of the week. For example on Sun.,it's old fashioned stew, roast pork & turkey w/ gravy, broiled salmon and seafood stew. all this in addition to their regular... More

This place exceeded my expectations! Insane variety of dining choices. Big portions. Easy parking. Modest prices. Try the fried oysters & the Reuben. Too bad the coffee is weak (1 refill max, really?) and tossed salad is nothing but lettuce. Will be back when in the mood for local comfort food.

Have eaten here at the request of others for breakfast and lunch its continues to be not my restaurant of choice but acceptable. They have a good selection of local favorites and daily specials but the coffee shop style of cooking and presentation requires greater attention. Concerned with establishments that overcook their vegetables and food is bland. Wait staff are... More

This small, newly up-dated restaurant, is reliable. The menu provides a wealth of choices as well as daily specials. The food is local diner quality. If you want Alan Wong's, gotta go a few miles Diamond Head side. If you want tasty filling food at a reasonable price in a welcoming atmosphere, no need drive, stay here.

I last reviewed during a vacation last December and I am sad to report that since we moved home to Oahu this restaurant has bottomed out. The decor has changed and the upgrade is okay, but I miss the egg guy! He consistently made great omelets on weekends. Senior waitstaff are gone and the remaining staff are obviously unhappy and... My wife and I were very disappointed, I had been here a few times over the years, but it was her first time, we are both local residents. From the moment we walked in to the moment we departed, nobody smiled or otherwise made us feel welcome at all. The insect in the water glass didn't help matters. I was... More
