A lot of Island folks I know love this place with its warm and charming decor. I've eaten there years ago but preferred some other "hole in the wall" Chinese establishments, which have almost all gone extinct as the children of proprietors go off to college and never return, so I've returned a few times now. After returning there twice... More

Chinatown location of a non-chop suey house has used to be a welcome standby during 5 years of Chinese grocery provisioning trips. Sadly, this formerly tasty gem has lost its food quality. The Mooshi appetizer is now a plate of sloppy cabbage slivers dredged in goopy cornstarch sauce with barely any shreds of meat or egg. The Dried Cooked Stringbeans... More

I ordered 3 dishes and only 1, the mu shoo rolls was tasty. the blackbean clams was inedible. I tried 3 clams hoping the last clam was just a bad one. I do not know hawaiin clams but they were too fishy and strong in taste. It over powered the blackbean even! the photo (attached) looks amazing but the reality... More

This place was recommended to us by a relative living in Honolulu, and it was worth the drive to Chinatown. Really authentic Chinese food, including many varieties of noodles. I had the eggplant in garlic sauce and dumplings, both of which were wonderful, and others in my party were equally pleased with their choices - various noodle and chicken dishes.... More

Locals suggested this was the best Chinese food but we thought it was very average. Crowded and busy, prices good, service very good but the chicken noodle bowl was bland and salty and the chicken strangely all dark meat. Fish dish was drowned in gummy salty sauce.

It's not so easy finding great Chinese food - even allowing for different tastes! Heard about this place from some local friends and as per another review it's not in a great looking area (buts it's practically next door to the Lucky Belly which looked interesting and was also busy) Was there for lunch and it's a large menu. The... More

We have eaten here every time we visit Hawaii. Not any more. The prices are off the chart and the portions are much smaller than they used to be. We don't mind a price increase if the portions are the same, but to raise one and reduce the other is unacceptable.

The good, the bad and the ugly about this place..... First the good, most pf the wood was good to very good. We eat Chinese in Asia and LA and have lots to compare to...... The Bad was the atmosphere. As tourist we were seated in the far back of the restaurant. The tables were of old wood and they... More
