Excellent Wait Staff - Good Food

Our party of 8 was seated and served (with no reservations) with expert precision. No long waits for food or drink. All orders correct. The food ranged from good to excellent. The only mis- step was the crusted Ahi which was okay but served better at a small poke take out in the same center.

Wonderful dinner. Can recommend the macadamia encrusted fish and the short ribs. Both are excellent. The chocolate soufflé is terrific. Staff are professional, attentive, friendly and helpful. This location has a more open feel and is less hectic than Roy's Waikiki. This is also Roy's original location.

My son and I enjoyed a sampling of several appetizers as our meal last night. He loved the ahi tuna, fire dragon, and short ribs. I thought the wedge salad and crab cakes were delicious. We shared every decadent bite of the yummy chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. For a quieter dining experience, sitting on the small patio is... More

A big thank you to the Manager Zameer and to our server, IkeIke, for a wonderful experience at Roy's Hawaii Kai. We thoroughly enjoyed the outside patio location and caught the sunset while sipping delicious drinks made by a friendly, bubbly bartender, Whitney. The guava lemonade was outstanding and refreshing on a warm evening. The Hawaian martini was smooth and... More

Roy's continues to evolve and stay fresh with new and innovative selections thanks to Executive Chef Chris Garner. Being a local I appreciate the warn and " Aloha Service" that is provided on every visit. Mahalos to General Mgr. Zameer Mallal for " Five Star Service" from every member of the staff. My friends and myself will all be back... More

When we go to Honolulu, we always go to Roy at Hawaii Kai, and it is always very good and creative. This time we had very creative shushis, first class black cod, delicious scallops. The atmosphere is lively, albeit a bit laut, and the service is excellent. Very good wine list. A very pleasant experience!

Valentine's Day is a challenging and crowded night to dine any where. We started planning about a week ago and so many restaurants were already sold out. So we felt "lucky" to get a 5:00pm reservation. Anyway, we checked in on time, was politely greeted, escorted to our table and recognized by me several times. The General Manager, "Z" as... More

We haven't been back to this Roy's in over 15 years, and it is still the BEST. My wife and I shared the sushi roll appetizer along with their beet salad. Both melted in your mouth. Superior quality fish and excellent presentation. We then ordered the short ribs (one of their specialties for years!) and butterfish, and shared the entrees.... More

We hosted our family who lives here in Hawaii for dinner. I must say, I was expecting much more form the advance hype for Roy's I read on the airliner. I did expect a more extensive menu and was disappointed in that regard. Some of the food was tasty, some of it was rather bland. Over spiciness wa a bit... More
