Roy's Hawaii Kai is the original Roy's and the ambiance and great food cannot be beaten. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff of Roy's did a wonderful job. The pacific fusion cuisine at this restaurant was outstanding. I ordered a deep-fried Japanese snapper, and it was delicious, and the presentation of the dish was amazing. The other diners... More

Roy's Hawaii Kai was once my wife and my favorite restaurant. The last time we went ther the food had degraded so far that I can't see going back. My wife had something like "African prawns " that tasted darn near rotten and I had beef that could have come from a food truck. Too bad..... Hopefully they get a... More

Of all the restaurants we've been to, both in Hawaii and on the mainland, Roy's Hawaii Kai is our favorite. This is the original Roy's, and Roy Yamaguchi still has his hand in it. Our favorite thing to do is hang out at the bar drinking Roy's Prosecco and having an array of pupus, including Auntie Lei's Aloha Roll, Frying... More

Once again, we knew that eating at Roy's was a sure bet. The only frustration was the large table of ~20 people who were incredibly loud (obviously thinking they were the only ones in the restaurant). We mentioned our annoyance to the wait staff that we could hardly hear ourselves at our table, but they seemed to think that there... More

I ordered the Sashimi plate and it was the freshest fish I have ever had. I couldn't get enough of the octopus. While the price was pretty high, the quality was incredible

Stopped in with a friend that works for Roy's on mainland. We were treated great but so were all the other guests and the food was amazing!! The view to the bay enhanced the experience of being on the island. As the original Roys I look forward to coming back again!

We have traveled to many countries and we love to experience fine dining and Roy's is up in our top 10 for sure. This one is the original restaurant which began in 1988 and still outstanding. The restaurant is located in a nice suburb outside of Honolulu in an appealing building with the bar downstairs and main restaurant upstairs. The... More

What a wonderful experience. My husband and I came in (on a recommendation from a local) with a party of 5 with no reservations and they got us in in 15 minutes. And what a dinner. The fish was buttery, flaky and excellent and everything else I tried was fantastic. Wine selection was nice as well. Highly recommend this place.

We had company visiting and wanted to take them to a nice dinner. We requested to dine upstairs to see the sunset. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. I ordered the misoyaki butterfish which was wonderful. My husband had the prix fixe meal with the short ribs which was fun since they pick all the wines with each entree.... More
