Great place if you want to eat where the locals eat. Food is good and service is quick. Not the best atmosphere, but is clean and friendly.

Tiny little hole in the wall but the best Loco Moco on the island. Fed all six of us for the price of one entree at the hotel restaurants. Well worth the visit.

Best loco moco in Honolulu. My family also loved all of their plate lunches, including the garlic shrimp. Good

We got the variety plate, with fish, chicken and beef. Big portions. Probably 2 people can eat one plate and reasonably priced. Outside sitting areas in shade.

Look, you can visit Hawaii and never have a plate lunch. What's a plate lunch? 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad (macaroni and mayonnaise) and some sort of meat, often deep fried or drowned in brown gravy or both. Sure, you can ask for cole slaw instead--but if your purpose is to try something "local" then the... More

We came here because of the price. The food is reasonable price. I had Pork Cutlet. It was very good. Few pieces of breaded thin pork chop along with mac salad and rice. It was supposed to be lunch but I had it for breakfast anyway. My daughter had chicken and it was good as well. If you don't mind... More

Heard lots about this place, had high expectations. Definite hole-in-the-wall and old, established, local vibe. I was dying for Mac salad, I had heard thus would be pretty mayonnaise-y and it sure was. The macaroni was too soft actually. But I ate it. I had the mixed plate. Mahi mahi was good, chicken good, beef - meh. I'd go again... More

We've been coming to the Rainbow since we saw it on triple D. Our previous visits were always enjoyable, but not so much this year. My loco moco was not very good. I thought the burger was dry and almost meatloaf- like. I would not have wanted it as a hamburger. My wife had ribs and thought they were just... More
