I had to have shabu shabu, and Imanas has it! They don't have the large amount of options that other shabu shabu places do, but we wanted a place with a variety of foods for our family group. Space was a bit tight, but we were seated right away at 8:30 pm. We started with edamame and miso tofu. The... More

This is the go-to place for Japanese food for my wife and I. They only take phone reservations starting at 4:30PM (I think) and whenever you try calling, the line is always busy. That said, my wife and I have always been lucky that we never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a seat at a table or... More

4th time here and it deserved a review. Food is excellent with a substantial amount given for the price. I was pleasantly surprised on the staff and their knowledge of sake pairing. Not to be a sushi snob, but they did impress me on the quality of their ohtoro nigiri. The only thing that sucks is the parking. You either... More

My favorite was the nabe. Sushi was good too. Reasonable price. Parking is tight. Need to make reservation.

Go and experience the style of food, the delightful and helpful staff. We had the house special which is various meats, seafood and lots of veges cooked in front of you in a broth. I noticed the locals put red meats to one side to cook individually as they can tend to stew. Fun and new for us. Wait staff... More

It is a good restaurant. The high rating does it injustice since we have high expectation. The sushi was good but not outstanding. The prices are high but may be the norm for Honolulu. The atmosphere is very good, and the service also good. The manager remembers us. Parking however is an issue since there are very few spots. Walk-in... More

This was an absolutely amazing meal. Incredibly fresh fish, great presentation and friendly service. Some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. Would go again and again, if only I lived in Honolulu. You won't regret this.

This restaurant is simply a must try for Japanese izakaya style cuisine. Great selection of sushi and sashimi. You must get a reservation in advance as this is a local favourite. Smooth and efficient service, the food is fresh and well presented. The uni sushi is stunning, as well as the other izakaya dishes such as grilled ox tongue and... More

This place is fantastic. Basically, not that expensive but food quality is not less than the over-priced "fancy" Japanese restaurants in Waikiki. I also like the Interior design and service. We ordered a bunch of dishes and we liked most of them. For dinner, they accept reservation from 5 to 7 p.m. So, make a reservation early or go and... More

This is the gold standard for Japanese cuisine in the United States. Fresh food, amazing service, best sake selection I've seen outside of Japan.
