Dinner with Friends

It had been a while since we had eaten at Duc's Bistro. It was my friend Jim's turn to choose a restaurant and he chose Duc's Bistro. The owner and his wife personally greeted us and went over the menu. Their recommended choices: Saigon beef, fish wtth caper sauce, sauteed string beans and home made truffle pate are excellent. Will definitely come back.

While looking for lei's in Chinatown, we happened upon this little Bistro. After looking at the menu, we thought we'd try out Duc's Bistro. We were not disappointed. It is very small, with nicely set tables, and were greeted with a very warm and welcoming owner and staff. Once given the menus we were told about the specials. I was... More

My family and I were greeted by the owner and staff as we entered their small but roomy space. The server spoke well and clearly. What I liked was that after he announced the specials, he offered a summary. The service was top-notch. The drinks were special and delightful, the appetizers, especially the Green Papaya Salad, were wonderful and our... More

My very first taste of escargot was at Duc's and from there my entire dining experience was delightful to the finale dessert of espresso Kona coffee with ice cream. We enjoyed thoroughly the tailored menu Duc and his son served us, and the fusion of Asian and French really impressed. Absolutely must book for a high quality dinner with careful... More

I am on island this week for work and a customer suggested this. He was spot on. The appetizers, meals, staff were excellent. Felt very local and personal. Duc (the owner) stops by all the tables and greats as well as takes orders along with the staff. We had an amazing experience from the pate, mango salad, local fish special,... More

I ussualy do not like a Fusion restaurant ---- this one is an exception --- if you are visitor to Hawaii do not miss this little gem ---- A Vietnamese owner and immigrant who is French trained --- dishes you can get no where else --- must eat is the green papaya salad --- I am sure most of tried... One of our favorite places to go. Do not let the neighborhood fool you. Inside it is an oasis. They sometimes have live music. The owner Duc is very personable and will remember your name if you go more than once. Food is Vietnamese/ French. Duc is from Vietnam and there are old picts of Vietnam on the wall. They... More

We moved to Oahu in September. We went to Duc's before attending a performance at the Hawaii Theatre just a short walk from there. The owner and his son have designed a sumptuous menu and serve it up in perfect portions in an understated decor highlighted by excellent photographs of Vietnam.
