Best kept secret in Honolulu

I've been eating there for years. I don't do a lot of reviews, but this place is worth a stop. Duc's checks all the boxes for me. Prices are fair, the menu is not complicated, the presentations are well thought out and the escargot is better then Michels. Their House wines are as good as any... read more

The fresh oysters were perfect, as was the roasted eggplant appetizer. Our entrees, chicken with lemongrass and a sautéed fish went wonderfully with the saffron rice. My favorite dessert, tapioca with cocoanut was as good as ever. Very reasonable prices

We went to Duc's Bistro with family for my wife's 40th birthday. Duc and his wife greeted us, and were legitimately thankful to have us in their restaurant. The service from the staff continued to be above and beyond expectations. The service obviously wouldn't matter if the food wasn't up to far. Thankfully, this wasn't an issue. Duc's menu contains... Enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The servings were just right and the flavors were exquisite. Having had several Vietnamese cuisine at home and during travels, this was undoubtedly the best!

Not the nicest-looking area outside, but once you enter Duc's you are transported into a beautiful, welcoming ambience, where you are greeted effusively and genuinely and made to feel right at home. The food was even better. Delicious and beautifully presented, with impeccable service. The teenagers loved the homemade sodas; the fresh-tasting green papaya salad was a hit with everyone,... More

I usually eat here at least a couple times when I visit honolulu. Food is elegant in presentation and flavor. They use the highest quality ingredients and enhance it with subtle flavors so you can taste the quality. Good wine. White tablecloth. An oasis in a slightly creepy (but safe) area. The service is warm and friendly.

Duk's looks like a hole in the wall also situated right at the start of all the Chinatown lei stands. That area is the start of where the homeless are encamped. You open the door & step through & you are transported to a fine dining restaurant in Europe. Mr Duk does the cooking earlier in the day as does... More

Have eaten here twice. Unbelievably good. Classic french with a subtle modern vietnamese flair. We had seared frae gras, venison tartar and a vietnamese salad for starters. We then had a steamed hamachi filet with ginger and duck breast with grand marnier . They made a wonderful macademia icecream with ginger syrup. Complete wine list. And attentive and personal service.... More

Based on the excellent reviews of Duc's Bistro of T/Advisor, we went for lunch in the middle of the week. We worried when we say it was empty. We were greeted by a younger man and seated in the understated Vietnamese decorated bistro. He introduced us to his father, Duc, a former S. Vietnamese army officer, who is the proprietor... More
