Study the menu before you go or you'll be standing looking up at the menu board too long trying to decide what to order at the cash register. One of our favorites is the tempura catfish. It stays delicious even as takeout to eat at home.

This is a popular place with locals and always has something on the menu which satisfies or is healthy. Prices are very reasonable and the setting extremely casual (in and outside).

On the 4th Sunday every month, Kakaako Kitchen hosts a "Picnic on the Lanai" themed event. Previous themes includes the cuisine of China, Spain, Northwest and Northeast. On our visit it was the cuisine of... Hawaii. Meals are served family style with paper plates and plastic utensils and you are allowed to BYOB - they provide plastic Govino stemless wine... More

The restaurant is owned by Russell Siu, owner/chef of 3660 On The Rise. He is Chinese, his wife is Okinawan so he features lots of Chinese and Okinawan dishes, as well as the classic local dishes. I had Okinawan shoyu pork bau, with Nalo greens and my girl friend had beef stew with brown rice and green beans. When Okinawan... More

My wife and I tried this restaurant after just happening upon it in the Ward's Center. She had the chicken curry katsu, and I had the furikake tempura catfish. My wife would not tell me that furikake was seaweed. Regardless I ordered it. The seaweed was just sprinkled into the tempura batter. It was the best catfish I have ever... More

Kakaako Kitchen is our go to restaurant! Conveniently located and usual local prices. When we just canʻt decide after work or on the weekend what we might like to eat, we head here! The quality is always good and it is a quick and comfortable place to eat. When we have guests visiting and people canʻt decide, we head here... More

The food is fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned. The desserts look tantalizing in the case, and after eating one of the lemon bars, I can say that looks are not deceiving. It's a tad pricey (but you are in Honolulu, after all), but not outrageously so.

I usually come here with my son after a visit to the Children's Discovery Center. It's nearby and convenient. They have a patio dining area and it's actually quite pleasant, only thing is there are a lot of birds. I have a one year-old son who always drops food on the ground, so the birds tend to flock to him.... More
