Amazing evening

Dining at Chef Mavro was one of , if not the, BEST dining experiences we ever had. We booked a table to celebrate one of sons birthday; complicated as two of our boys have life threatening allergies but truly love excellent food. This is the second time with Chef Mavro and the tasting menu. Sublime artistry in food, wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere. I am a "local" but this is my favorite fancy restaurant. Highly recommend. Yes it's pricey but well worth it.

We were excited about our decision to eat at Chef Mavro's. After debating between Michel's and Alan Wong's, we went with Mavro's since I had already been to Michel's. In retrospect, I wish we'd gone to Michel's. The food at Mavro's was delicious and above par, but the atmosphere was stagnant at best. When spending such a significant sum on... More

I really loved the egg dish. I love eggs and never had something like this before--. The foie gras was delish too. My favorite was the lobster because when paired with a bite of each type of veggie-a different flavor was discovered. Wait service was impeccable and I love that Chef Mavro and his wife Donna come out to each... More

As a solo traveller I seek out restaurants that are highly recommended by friends who also love fine food. I must say that this dining experience completely exceeded my very high expectations. I chose the 4 course menu with wine pairings and from the first taste of the Amuse Bouche I knew I would experience food I had never even... More

My husband and I had a truly great experience. Absolutely recommend. Chef Mavro certainly knows how to please the pallet! The food courses were an amazing symphony of flavors. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. All around a fatastic meal and worth experiencing. Can't wait to go back~

The first time we dined at Chef Mavro's, it was a set Valentine's Day menu, and it was good but not memorable. We decided to give the restaurant another try a couple of years ago, and we have been ardent fans ever since! The food is clearly prepared by a chef who is classically trained in the French tradition, but... More

Certainly the antithesis of the fast food dining experience. The restaurant is off the beaten path of Waikiki but easy to find with adequate parking. When you arrive the staff acts as if they are expecting you and your leisurely paced fine dining experience begins. Menu is a 4 or 6 course prix fixe with or without wine pairings. The... More

I travel the world, seeking out the best dining experiences, and this was one of them. The very accessible, but complex menu, was well balanced and thought out, no repetition of flavors or key ingredients, and extremely flavorful and fresh. This is on par with the Michelin *** restaurants in Europe.

We went to Honolulu for Christmas/ New Years celebrations. Decided to go to some of the "best" restaurants (and went, check our other reviews). This one was THE best. Decided to have a full course menu with wine pairing. Superb, surprise from every single dish/wine. The vegetables in the first course were amazing (and we are not a kind of... More
