It's authentic !

It is a hole in the wall and not a very comfortable place to visit. Parking is problematic....but the food is authentic and the owners were serving and so helpful in showing us what to order and how to enjoy it. If you want an adventure...it was terrific and the food very good!

We were staying on Waikiki and a local friend brought us here for dinner. We had a terrific time. It's a no frills place and a relief from the chains and upscale restaurants at the hotels along the beach. We walked the 1.5 miles from our hotel. Three of us shared the combination plate plus an order of chicken long... More

Delicious authentic food! We were a group of four and ordered 2 combo platters and 2 side dishes. We thought it might be too much food but it was just the right amount and we enjoyed every morsel! Our server was also very helpful with helping us decide what to get and describing some of the items. If you aren't... More

The best authentic Hawaiian food I have ever had! This little hole in the wall is serving up the real thing. Laulau that melts in your mouth. Kahlua pork that is smokey, juicy and DELICIOUS! The limit salmon is unbelievable. But the biggest surprise was the poi. You have to try it. Rich and creamy, with a hint of sweet.... More

Had dinner here with my wife on one of the nights we visited Honolulu, when we wanted to try some local authentic food and ended up here based on tripadvisor reviews. We had to wait outside for a little while as the restaurant only seats around 24 people. We ordered a "Combo" plate, which includes both the Kalua pig and... More

Ono Hawaiian Foods is actually a well-known traditional hawaiian restaurant. It offers the very traditional cousin from the old King times. The typical leaves wrapping chicken or pork is the top dish, the meet/chicken inside the leaves was fresh & special, well, just not my type. There was also a dish that impressed me a lot, it's octopus soaked in... More

This is a small hole in the wall restaurant that offered delicious home-style Hawaiian food at what I thought was a reasonable price. It is not difficult to find as it is on a major street, Kapahulu Avenue, and is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the Honolulu Zoo end of Waikiki. No place in the main tourist... More

The people at this hole in the wall restaurant were very helpful and friendly. They gave us suggestions on what to order. The food was good I guess if you like Hawaiian food. We ordered some kind of combination plate. Pork ,rice, pork wrapped in taro leaves and some other things. Leonard's bakery is right down the road. Popeyes chicken... More

Small hole in the wall restaurant that offered very delicious food at a premium price. I shared the Combination Plate with my wife. The Combination Plate came with Kalua Pig and Laulau, Pipikaula, Lomi Salmon, Haupia, and rice or Poi. I did not recognize any of these items on the menu but, I was there to try to and different... We had dinner here, and selected the $26 size Combination plate to share amongst 3 of us. The food was delivered in an assortment of dishes, which covered a good part of our table. Visually it was a bit off-putting. The main plate was pork and spinach which looked pretty bad.. however it certainly tasted GOOD! The other dishes were... More
