The tour guide on our bus trip said that the restaurant with the red door was the best place to eat . Our first visit saw us turned away as it was just on 8pm and it was closing time . When we asked if we could get take out we were told no as they had run out if... More

My wife and I tried ONO's a couple of nights ago and we left the small, homey restaurant with full tummies, leftovers, and money in our wallets. We were very conservative in ordering and we enjoyed everything. We ordered everything ala carte. The Kahlua Pig with onions, sweet potatoes, small rice, and a large bowl of beef stew. The cook... Was the most authentic place we went to in Oahu. Been serving since the 1950's. Close enough to Waikiki beach to walk. Try the Lau Lau and Kalhua pig combo platter, plenty for two. Really small place. We went around 1:30 and got a table immediately. Food was in front of us about 3 minutes after we ordered.

Went here for an assignment in college so when we visited this past March, I had to take my boyfriend. It's great to have traditional Hawaiian food. It's nothing to look at from the outside but the food is fast and great. The chicken long rice is great but you have to have the kalua pork! Great stop for local... More

I just completed an 18 day stay in Oahu. I had checked online for authentic Hawaiian fare, and this restaurant came up. We took a cab over from our hotel, and if course the cabbie knew where it was and complimented our choice. We arrived early, about 4:45PM, it's a small place and only one table was available when we... More

Authentic food and no one else in the place. Got there around 4pm. We got the combination platter and had them pick other items for us. Told us how to eat and took some pictures for us. For an authentic local meal and must try.

A little out of the way, no frills hawaiian restaurant. Food was excellent. Shared the combo plate and it was more than enough for two people. No liquor license but who cares with great food!

On the recommendation of a local, we went here to eat after a day at the beach. We walked from our Waikiki hotel and it took about 20 minutes. It took us a little while to find it, and when we did, we weren't sure what was in store for us. We walked in and took a seat and were... More

Born and raised in Hawaii, I was expecting amazing Hawaiian food. The kalua pig was really good, but two dishes stood out as a HUGE disappointment. The squid luau - aweful. It had pieces of tako (octopus) sliced thinly on top of boiled luau leaves and thats it... most of the time, squid luau has tender pieces of squid that... More

This restaurant is a must visit when in Waikiki. It's walking distance from all Waikiki hotels but is significantly different from all other restaurants in the area. It is small and authentic. Staff are friendly and helpful when explaining the menu. Generous portion sizes and very cheap. Will definitely come back.
