Chai's is rather upscale, you can dine in flip flops and tee shirt, but you will stand out. Wear something nice, doesn't have to be fancy, for guys, a nice aloha shirt over burms would work, for the ladies, just something nice. It's valet parking (around $8 sans gratuity.) Do not enter the parking garage, there is a valet station... More

Great food and lots of it. A little on the pricy side, but all top notch stuff. If you want lobster and crab legs, this is the place to go.

We had one precious date night while on Oahu vacationing with our three sons and the grandparents. On the advice of a local, we spent it at Chai's and were very happy with our decision. The food was not the absolute best we have ever had, but combined with the atmosphere, service, and live Hawaiian music, the experience was outstanding.... More

The food and ambiance were good. Entertainment is top notch. Portions are exceedingly small for the price. $20 cab ride (each way) from Waikiki. Be prepared to drop some cash for a visit to Chai's. I would reserve going there only for special occasions.

My husband and I visit Chai's Island Bistro every time we visit Honolulu and are always pleased with the excellent service providing superb food at reasonable prices in a relaxing atmosphere. As if that weren't enough, we are always delighted to enjoy the entertainment of Danny Couch singing while we dine. He has an amazing ability to make you believe... More

Although we were seated in the middle of the dining room, we could barely hear them. I had so looked forward to this evening. After dinner, we choose to sit at the bar where the sound was a little better. Located at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, downtown Honolulu, it wasn't worth the effort to get there. The Marketplace has many... More

We are Hawaiian Music lovers and Chai's didn't disappoint. We spent 2 different evenings there for both dinner and the evening's local music. The table was ours for the entire evening - 3 sets of music and the food was great. They also serve half portions of several entree's so we mixed and matched and enjoyed a wide variety of... More

Went to Chai's with friends and tried the group dinner. There were 6 of us and cost $52 per person. We sampled 3 appetizers (tiger prawns, king crab cakes, ahi katsu), 6 entrees (mahi curry, grilled salmon, osso buco, spicy prawns, steak bites, duck), and 6 desserts (white choc creamsicle, key lime cake, creme brulee, cheesecake, tiramisu, choc pyramid). It's... More
